Easy Cap
This cap was very easy to use when sealing up the 1Gal jug, even when my hands were wet. Good grip and seals tight. It held up even under an intense blowoff and minimized mess. I would recommend this over the 1Gal bung simply for that reason. The seal with the airlock in the middle was clean and tight too. With moderate pressure it stretches slightly to accommodate the airlock. Good product!

Works!
Four stars because ive had one break. Make sure not to overtighten. In my case it was tight enough where the pressure broke it.

Don't over tighten!
Cap works perfectly on 1 gallon jugs, however do not over tighten! Top plate will separate from threaded collar allowing gas to escape through the split instead of the air lock, giving the false impression of a completed or stuck fermentation. Found this out the hard way with my last batch of cider, actually broke 2 of them. Make sure you keep several spares on hand.

Good enough
It works well on either the one gallon jugs they sell or even carlos rossi wine jugs (gallon). My only complaint is that sometimes you really have to push the airlock hard to get it to snap into place and on one batch when there was too much krausen/pressure it split the cap. But for 50 cents buy a few extra. Still works better than a stopper.

Doesn't accept airlocks very well.
This cap is a very hard nylon with little to no flex. It doesn't accept airlocks very easily and can actually split if you push the airlock in too hard. One way to get around this may be to push a short piece of vinyl tubing into the cap and then insert the airlock into the other end.

Fits 5/16 hose but not 7008 S airlock
This screw cap is a nice idea. Fits 1 gallon glass jug.5/16 hose makes a very snug seal with some work.only problem is, was planning to use 7008 S airlock with this cap. This item does not Does not create seal at all - order recvd 08/13.If planning to use with 7008 S airlock, would recommend using No. 6 Drilled Stopper SD6 or you will not have a seal on brew/yeast starter day.

Which I.D. and O.D. blow off tube will fill it?
Denis B on Dec 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The way I prefer to make a blow off on these is to affix a three piece airlock into the hole then attach the tubing to the airlock to make a secure bridge to hold it. That works with either 5/16" or 3/8" siphon tubing - or you can just put 3/8" ID tubing into the cap. I hope this helps! Cheers. James J.
what is the ID and OD
F R on Oct 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The cap is 38mm and the hole for the airlock is roughly 3/8"
