Belgian Ale Kits (All Grain)
The term "Belgian ale" encompasses a wide variety
of diverse and unique beers. There is no one set of
characteristics, no neat divisions. Many Belgian beers
even have their very own glasses; the brewers and
drinkers would insist that the same beer served in a
different glass wouldn't taste "right."
Belgian brewers aren't bound by the same
traditions as their German and British counterparts.
Fruit, spices, sugar—anything goes. Also, Belgian ales
are often fermented at high temperatures (up to
86° F!) lending the beer phenolic and estery
qualities considered undesirable in most other
styles.
Our kits are true to eccentric form—you may
want to purchase a commercial example before committing
to brew five gallons. These beers are something of an
acquired taste, but once you've acquired it...
