In the great city of Milwaukee, famous home of macrobrew giants, a microbrewery has been going against the flow for over 20 years. Brewers of the first organic-certified beer in the US, as well as the first fruit beer bottled since since prohibition and one of the first gluten-free beers to hit the market, Lakefront is all about pushing the boundaries, making great beer, and keeping it local.
Since the opening of Northern Brewer Milwaukee in 2009, Lakefront Brewery has been a collaborator on a number of projects. A jointly sponsored wort rally brought homebrewers to Lakefront’s facilities to fill up their carboys with fresh wort. Northern Brewer retail manager and yeast fanatic Jeremy King has discovered a native Wisconsin yeast strain and is currently working with Wyeast and Lakefront to isolate and culture it for use in the brewery’s all-local beer. These beer kits are the result of a close working relationship with Lakefront’s expert brewers.
These are not clone kits - these are the actual recipes that Lakefront uses for their award-winning beers.
