Draft Brewer® Reconditioned Pin Lock Keg

SKU# K044

Standard Shipping Rates Apply to this product

Perfect for kegging your homebrew, cider, or soda, these reconditioned pin lock 5-gallon kegs are used, but have been tested and approved to hold pressure – their most important task. Though the exteriors may have cosmetic damage, we guarantee that they are pressure-capable and we personally pressure test each and every one when it comes through our doors.

Needed, but not included, is a CO2 cylinder, Regulator, and Pin Lock Gas (KX07) and Beverage (KX09) lines.

Product Details

Along with pressure testing each keg, we replace the lid o-rings and outer-post o-rings, if needed. Many of our competitors do not do this, but we want to make absolutely sure you are satisfied – even if it's a used keg at a low price! Our technicians have also cleaned each keg with a caustic soda rinse – but even so – the keg may retain a sweet smell similar to a lemon-lime soft drink. The keg exteriors have not had extensive cleaning, so as with most "used" soda kegs we recommend that you thoroughly clean the keg inside (again) and out before using.

A note about o-rings: If you are concerned about the condition of the o-rings you may purchase extra o-rings separately, in case any tear during use.

This amazing price is worth a few dents! Because these kegs are used, many show exterior wear and tear that will not affect the keg's performance to hold pressure. Holding pressure is the keg's main function, and it will keep your beer tasting fresh and delicious. The affordability of buying "reconditioned" is definitely worth a few scratches and dents.

These kegs are sourced from a variety of vendors and are not customer returns. They may not look new, but they work like new, thus the major discounted price from that of a brand new keg.

22" Tall x 8.75" diameter.

Note: Keg Lube can help prevent CO2 leaks and prolong the life of the keg seals.

A Pin Lock Socket Tool (K197) can help in the removal of Pin Lock posts for cleaning.

No manual pressure relief valve; pretty banged up
Okay, right up front I'll admit I bought the pin lock keg by mistake since all my hardware is ball lock. First thing I didn't like was that the keg was pretty beat up, but it's used so what-are-ya-gonna-do. Second thing is that there's no manual pressure relief valve on these kegs. I like to purge the headspace with CO2 and now I have to go find a chopstick or something to stick in gas line fitting and connect/remove the CO2 cylinder a bunch of times and hope I don't get sprayed with beer (rather than just pull the convenient valve ring on a ball lock keg top). Lesson learned.

Is there a pressure relief built into the lid?
A shopper on Mar 29, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No, you will need to use a pointed object to depress the valve in the center of the out post to relieve pressure.
Do these come with all required hardware and software, e.g., gaskets, o-rings, gas/liquid in/out fittings?

Thank you for choosing Northern Brewer! These kegs come with all gaskets

fittings etc that come with a brand new keg. You will still need your hoses/lines

spout etc... I hope this helps

have a great day!!
I notice the height is 22in, what would you say the height all hooked up would be... 23? I have a cooler I'm trying to convert but I'm starting to think it might be a tad too short :(
J J on Jan 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The disconnects would add at least 2 inches to the height. I would plan around 24 inches tall. Cheers!
What are the dimensions? Need to know if this will fit/how many will fit in my kegerator.
G R on Oct 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The dimensions are 8.8" L x 8.8" W x 22" H. Cheers!
