Great product for a stout
I'm a fan of DME vs. liquid extract because of freshness and shelf life, and this is a great option for a stout. I brewed an Oatmeal stout with this as the base and specialty grains, and it turned out great!

Fresh and clean
The Briess Dark DME is yet another great product from Briess. It did great as the base for an Imperial Oatmeal stout. It was super fresh and made for a very clean, heavy beer.

Breiss Dark Malt dry extract
The Briess dark dry malt extract is the base for the Chocolate Milk Stout. This was the first time I brewed this beer and it came out great. As usual Northern Brewer delivers on the finest brew products. I give this malt extract 5 stars.

Would this work well in bread making? I've only ever used the malt syrup in baking. Thanks.
A shopper on Mar 21, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Sure, this can work for baking projects, as a sugar and addition of extra flavor. Dry malt extract and liquid malt extract is the same, except for the water content.
was thinking of adding some of this to a Dry Irish Stout Extract Kit ?
jeff a on Mar 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I use this as additions to kits all the time. Just take in to account the added specific gravity into your consideratiins with your other ingredients especially your yeast. You can alwats call/email northern brewer for their reccomendations. Or best of all, a brew calculator program.
