The Growler Filler: Feeding the Beer Beast

As every home brewer knows, there are two moments that define every batch of beer. The first is when you drink it, and the second is when you bottle it. Most people have little problem with the drinking part, but the bottling part is often ripe with hassle. Everyone knows the drill: you carefully sanitize a few dozen beer bottles. You soap them, you rinse them, you dry them and you pray that there’s nothing funky stuck to the bottom. When all is said and done, you're rinsing them out and looking for a place to store them until you finish your next batch.

But the bottle isn’t the only way to store and pour your homegrown brew. Just ask any home brewer with a healthy love of ale and a hearty constitution, and he'll tell you to go big or go home. Why not consider kegging your beer and taking it to go with a Growler? And just what is a Growler? To the untrained eye, it can appear as just a handled glass jar. But with the proper tools, it's a jar capable of carrying anywhere from half a gallon to two whole liters of your latest inebriation creation.

That's right. Rather than cleaning and storing an endless supply of bottles, you can keep your beer safe in a keg and simply fill a growler whenever you and your friends need a pint. All you need is at least one Growler and a handy little device known as a “Growler Filler.” There are a number of different gadgets that go by this name, but all of them are designed to allow you to fill your Growlers straight from the tap while virtually eliminating the risk of spillage. This way you’ll get the speed of a bar tap pull without risking having to mop up any of your precious cargo. Most Growler Fillers employ a six inch to two foot tube that attaches to the tap and fills the growler from the bottom up. Some even have a trigger device at the bottom that allows you to cut off the flow of beer at the last possible second for maximum capacity.

Though growler fillers are available at most beer stores, you'll find that ours is afford ably priced, made of strong ,durable material - assisting you to keep enough fresh brew on hand for all your thirsty friends.

Quick and easy
Great for filling a growler up as you leave the house. Still foams a little (I don't play around with the pressure) but nothing like it would if I did a straight pour. Makes a good seal and is easy to rinse off to keep it clean.

Worked well for me
I use this product to fill 22 ounce bombers worked great. Drop your Co2 to around 5 psi, put your bottles in the freezer after sanitizing so they are closer to the beer temp.

Total Game Changer
This little inexpensive piece of equipment is exactly that--a total game changer! Such a simple thing--why don't you have it in your brewing arsenal already? Fill growlers with ease. Minimizes foam losses while trying to fill your growlers. Less messy foam clean-ups in your fridge or keezer, or on your floor!(Fits standard faucets, not Perl or Perlick)

Must have item
If you keg your homebrew, this product is a must have. What's better than drinking your beer in the comfort of your own home? Bringing it somewhere else to enjoy with friends, of course! This product works great at connecting to standard tap faucets and filling growlers. Highly recommend!

Works Great.
Growler filler helps solve the only problem with kegging your homebrew - portability. Hook it up directly to your keezer or corny keg snap tap, lower the PSI, and you are good to go. Avoid the hassle of bottling while maintaining the ability to bring your homebrew on the road. Can't go wrong for seven bucks.

Works well for growlers, less well on bottles
I have one of these, and it works well filling growlers. I generally use a growler that's been in the freezer, and turn the gas pressure down to 5 PSI or so to reduce the foaming. I've tried using it with 22 oz or other larger bottles, and it's doesn't work quite as well, mostly due to the foam taking up a larger portion of the bottle space. The only thing that keeps it from 5 stars from me is that once in a while, bubbles appear inside the line while I'm pouring. I'm not sure if it's air getting into the faucet and line somehow or CO2, but the bubbles are larger, so it's probably not just CO2 coming out of solution. I don't mind if it's air because I'm going to drink the beer soon, so I don't care about oxidation. The problem is that it makes more foam. It's definitely not a deal-breaker though.

fits well, wish tube weren't curved
This works well, fits with a tight seal on the faucet. it shipped in a bag with the tubing bent in a fairly tight circle, which complicates filling just enough to be irritating. A small matter to heat and pull straight, but I don't much like having to "fix" things just purchased.

Will this fit my Perlick 630 faucet ?
steve f on Sep 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This filler is not compatible with Perlick 630 faucets.
Does this work on a Perlick?
J O on Sep 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Joe

You'll find the answer to this question on the product description - unfortunately it is not compatible with Perlick faucets. We've tried in vain for sourcing a bottle filler specifically for Perlicks

sadly the last time we had one

Perlick changed their faucet shortly thereafter and it no longer was compatible.
