Great Product
Works wonders to aerate wort for brewing beer and has increased my brewing efficiency. Also great for making liquid flow around wort chiller coil when cooling after boil; the plastic is not meant for boiling wort so let it cool below 180 degrees F or the paddles could soften and bend. Also keep an eye on the lock nut as it can be worked off after loits of use and that is not fun to get out of a carboy or bucket full of liquid.

More than just for Wine and Mead
I bought this as my full time oxygenator for my beer. A few minutes with the cordless drill and you will have all the oxygen you need in your wort to get a rockin' fermentation rolling in no time. Easy to clean and I never have to worry about an empty oxygen tank. The bonus is I can use it for wine or mead later, when I get around to them.

Effective
I bought this for degassing mead. The paddles collapse so that it can be lowered into the narrow glass carboy neck. Like another reviewer said, I don't know if I would trust it with high heat because the paddles are plastic. It works really well for its intended purpose!

Works awesome
I use this for mixing my meads together and later degassing. Couldn't be happier with it!

Creates a Major Vortex!
This device moves a serious volume of liquid! I use it with a drilled carboy bung to ensure the liquid does not come out the top...it will if your drill is on high. I tightened the nut down on the blade slightly as the fit was tight when getting this into the glass carboy. I cannot imagine degassing my wine without it!

This thing is a must have for wine
This is a great item. I put in on the drill and had great results. It is very simple to use and much easier than stirring by had to try to degas the wine. After reading some other reviews, I will also be using this to aerate my wort in the very near future. I had to tighten the not just a little bit to get it in and out of the carboy, but that was simple. My only real complaint is that it is not part of the Deluxe Wine Kit. This seems like a must have.

Just what the Dr. ordered
Works great for aerating my beer as well as degassing my wine!

Great for degassing mead
Works great for degassing mead, just hold the drill even (luckily mine has level on top) and it creates a huge, but controlled, vortex. I cannot comment on oxyginating wort, as I still use pure O2 for that.

Great Product
Easy to use and very effective. My only problem with the stirrer is the nut the joins the two paddles makes it a little hard to put in and out of the carboy. Not really a problem, more of a small hassle.

I love how well this works
I bought this recently and love how well it works. If they would make the paddles out of a heat resistant material this product would be perfect. Tried to use it to stir my wort during my boil and started to warp the paddles. Won't do that again.

Does this fit in one gallon jug for small batch wine.
Michael M on Nov 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Not sure. I have only used this item for aerating wort in a 5 gallon carboy. Works great!
What kind of plastic does this use? Is it silicone or another boil-safe variety?
C J on Nov 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The product packaging does not indicate the type of plastic used nor does it say if it is boil safe. I plan on spraying mine with a solution of Star-San. I saw in a recent video that Star-San solutions remain effective for two weeks after mixing with water. You do have to keep the surface wet for two minutes with the Star-San solution. Hope that helps!
