Highly elastic, polymer-based synthetic wine corks.

"If you choose a top-quality synthetic cork, like the Nomacorc they'll always be ready to go, never dry out, get mushy, chip, rot, split or leak. If you want my recommendation, I can have any cork in the world, and I use Nomacorcs in my wine." - Tim Vandergrift

Product Details

Highly elastic, polymer-based synthetic #9 by 1.5 wine corks manufactured by a patented extrusion process, resulting in a small, uniform, closed-cell structure that acts as a superior long-term barrier to oxidation and leakage and will never mold or taint. Nomacorcs will not impart off-flavors to wine, and will not break or disintegrate. Normacorcs insert and remove smoothly and allow for upright or horizontal storage of bottles immediately after corking. Any type of corkscrew can be used to pull a Nomacorc, but we recommend a corker with an iris mechanism for best results when inserting Nomacorcs in bottles.

Excellent corks
I have used these corks for years with the Italian Floor Corker (not the Champagne Corker, if that matters), and they have always worked very well. I have never had any problems with unacceptable seals, as another review suggests may occur with a floor corker. In contrast, I would highly recommend a floor corker. It is very difficult to use a hand corker with these synthetic corks, but that is what gives me confidence in their seal.

Excellent product
I have used these synthetic corks for years and they always work well. They are flexible so it makes it easier to use on different style bottles.

Don't use a floor clorker
I used to think that these synthetic corks were the best. They reliably last much longer than natural cork. The don't deteriorate and cause cause cork taint. They don't dry out and allow oxidization. You can even store your bottles upright.HOWEVER I just ready (and personally verified) that if you use a floor corker (mine is the Italian champagne corker, but I'm told the Portuguese corker as well) the compression mechanism puts 4 small scores in the sides of the cork causing it not to seal properly! If you look closely at a corked clear bottle you can see the seal isn't tight at this point. Upon removing the cork you can see the actual score marks down the side. This is highly disturbing.I'm told that the single lever hand corker works well with these corks and not scoring them.
