Probably the most well known strain for producing classic stouts, this is a popular choice for many dark beers and high gravity beers. Beers fermented in the lower temperature range produce a dry, crisp profile with subtle fruitiness. Fruit and complex esters will increase when fermentation temperatures are above 64°F.

We strongly recommend ordering dry yeast in the summer months. We do include complimentary Cold Ice Packs with all liquid yeasts. However, it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will survive the trip, given transit times and particularly hot temperatures.

Nice results from this yeast
Brewed a dry Irish stout with outstanding results. Even though they report a high yeast count, I used a starter. I felt like the strength of the yeast and resulting fermentation really contributed to the complexity of my final beer.

Easy to use
Have used this a couple times already now and I've really enjoyed the high concentration of yeast and the high attenuation achieved using Omega Yeast. Past two experiences with the Irish red have been positive and resulted in delicious beers with no unpleasant aftertastes or stalling (for high OG)

does this bag of yeast puff up like wyeast after removing from the fridge?

BEST ANSWER: I brewed from the pack with it yesterday. Temp in brew house was about 68 and I had the pack out at least 3 hours before I pitched. There was some puff up to the pack but not as much as a wyeast pack.
