Excellent for partial mash.
I use this as a late addition in my partial mash IPA's. I have used it for years with very reliable results. This is a solid LME base for extract only, partial mash or a "kicker" boost for your batch of home brew. Great product!

Solid consistent extract
I used this in a recipe for a hybrid IPA that I concocted years ago and still use it regularly. It is consistent and what you would expect from a basic malt extract. Warm up the entire can a little bit in a pot of water before opening to make it easier to get out of the can.

Great extract for ESB
I used this with some specialty grains to make a really good ESB. I've used this for years with great results.

Great extract for ESB
Filled my 10 gal (11.7 total gal) mash tun with the recommended amount of hot (175??) water for my grain bill and dropped in my grains. The water hit a perfect 158?? and stayed there for over 30 minutes. After stirring many, many times and keeping a temperature probe submerged in my mash (the lid is perfect for popping it into place and still having just enough room to let a wired probe dangle down inside) and it finally got down to 154?? at the end of an hour. Wow, only a 4 degree drop over an hour's worth of opening the top and stirring.... Not once did the mashing or lautering phase develop any problems. The thing worked like a champ and drained easily (too fast, really! I'll have to learn how to keep it sloooowwww) and cleaned up in a snap. The second tun held my other reserve of 175?? sparge water for over an hour (with lid sealed) and temperature only dropped 1 degree. My only negative against it is the instructions (unless I somehow missed them, or misread them) weren't very clear on how to assemble the valve conversion assembly and mount in the spigot hole. It took several minutes of trying different combinations to get the valve spigot to stay in place. Worked great after that though! And there should be a big warning painted on the side: "Close valves before brewing!!" Learned the hard way what 175?? water felt like, running down the inside of my shoe and on my foot!! ;-)Would buy again! Well-built and very solid construction, very durable. Should last many, many brewing sessions.

Solid consistent extract
Just fired this bad boy up and did 2 batches....... boy does it get the water to a boil fast!!! Best part is the bottom of my kettle stays clean as opposed to my Dark Star burner that left a lot of carbon deposit on the bottom which was more work to clean it, it is also a smaller burner than the dark star. This burner is very sturdy like a rock I can even stand on it and I am 225 and it shows no signs of stress at all. I really like the adjustments to control the flame, it burns hot so I know the good looks wont last but I know the burner will continue to produce excellent results and that is why I bought it. The 3 leg design sits more sturdy on my garage floor than a 4 leg would be so that is why I went with this over the name brand product. I don't expect the prom queen looks to last but I expect the quality result will this is a great product, I am glad I spent my money on it.

Excellent for partial mash.
I would agree with past comments, this thing is a BEAST! This was my first burner ever so i cant compare it with other products, but this burner is amazing. It's sturdy and quiet and does achieve boil at a very fast rate. If your thinking of buying a lower priced burner, dont do it, treat yourself to this model, you wont regret it! The copper on the upper ring does fade after your first brew, but that is strictly cosmetic. Also I would recommend using a 10 gallon kettle with this. Ive had no issues using this combo. Your future brews will thank you for buying this burner. Cheers!

It is great. Very versatile. Use it as a base LME for your extract and partial brews. Very satisfied.
