Plastic Plunger Corker

An inexpensive handheld corker. Requires a fair amount of effort on the part of the user, so we recommend it for small batch-winemakers who will only be corking a few bottles at a time. Works best with #7 and #8 corks, as larger corks will be too difficult to compress.

plastic corker
Could use a larger push handl, room for both hands. Also I would dip it in the sanitizer solution befor each cork insertion, slid in a little easier.

Works well
Corked 60 bottles now with this. Not sure what the other reviewers problem is(elaborating helps). Make sure you wet(sanitizer) the corks before you try and slide them in the bottle. If you occasionally make wine like i do this will work well for you. 4 pints due to being cheeply made, and a little clumsy to use. But it works.

Works great!
I have a very small beginners wine-making operation. This corker is perfect. I corked 20 bottles with no trouble at all.

Does the trick
It worked just fine and I'm not sure why you would need to spend more money on another product unless you were bottling cases, often.

Simple affordable tool. not so grate for Belgium beer style corks.

Works for me
This requires a little force with a #8 cork. I soak the corks in sanitizer and place the bottles on the floor for leverage. I only bottle one or two gallons at a time but I'm very happy with how it works. Minus one star for the effort it takes.

terrible
Almost Impossible to cork with. Do Not buy

Not worth it
Could not get a single cork in. Glad I tried it on a test bottle before trying to cork any actual wine. With #8 corks there was just no way it would work. I stopped short of taking a hammer to the thing.

Would this work for these corks http://www.northernbrewer.com/first-quality-9x1-75-corks ? If no, what would be the alternative.

BEST ANSWER: I would recommend a smaller cork. I actually had to buy a different corker because it was too hard to use.
