Product Details

This is one of the nicer digital thermometers we have used recently. It has a range of -40° to 350°F (-40° to 175°C). The stainless steel stem features Quick Tip technology, which means that this thermometer reads the correct temperature within 8 seconds or less. It is waterproof, which makes it ideal for brewing applications. This thermometer is incredibly easy to calibrate — just place the probe in at least 1 inch of crushed ice and water and press the "Calibrate" button for two seconds. The ProAccurate Digital Thermometer also has a min/max function, and shuts off after 10 minutes of non-use. It is warrenteed by the manufacturer for five years.

Mine is excellent
I've had this thermometer for several years and I treat it poorly at best. Boggled by all the negatives here but maybe they changed the manufacturing for the worse...anyway it gets knocked around, completely submerged, left on the surface of the stove after the burner's been on, you name it. It still works better than any thermometer I've ever used. From what I've experienced, it's the fastest, most accurate thermometer under the $100 mark. If I go to a friend's place to brew, I bring this along because their thermometers just suck in comparison.

So far so good. Good digital thermometer to have for temp control.

Works like a champ
6 months+, and about 10 brews, so far it works great. I keep it in the protective casing hung from my shirt. When I need it, I spray some star san on it, and then use it. I haven't had any issues, and would recommend to anyone.

Works Great
After going through two cheap digitals from WallyWorld I bought this one and have been using it for over 9 months and it keeps on going. It's waterproof so dunking/rinsing it in sanitizer is no problem and it has survived several drops onto concrete. It is fast responding and accurate (has not lost it's calibration).

Quick and accurate
bought this product to check mashing temps. Very fast and accurate readings.

very accurate
I have neen using a lab grade glass / mercury thermometer. Knowing that eventually it would break, I bought this thermometer. I lile that the readout is not on the side, but facing the user. And the accuracy is good - matches what the lab thermometer says. Very satisfied.

Great thermometer
I really wanted a digital thermometer and decided to go with this one. Works great. Compared it with other non digital therms I own and its spot on and reads temps quickly. Worth the buy if your looking for a simple digital thermometer.

fast and accurate
It would be nice if it was a little longer but other than that it does it's job well. I takes fast readings and is very accurate.

5 years and still running
Lot of negative feedback on this item it seems, which is surprising as mine has survived 5 years of frequent use including brewing 40+ brews, accidentally dropping it in the pot at a full boil, and two moves across country. The thing has been running like a champ (knock on wood!) and is still on the original battery. I now work in the field of metering equipment (for energy efficiency...not cooking thermometers) and this little thing has had a longer and more accurate lifespan than several of my $2000 power meters. I must have just got lucky I guess. Hydrometers...now that's another story....
