Product Details
Glass carboys are airtight, easily sanitized and do not hold an odor. They can be preferred to plastic buckets and plastic carboys because they do not scratch easily and do not break down over time. If handled carefully, a glass carboy will last decades while giving the same great performance for fermentations. Seal with a Small Universal Stopper or a standard 6.5 rubber stopper. Our packaging experts have worked hard to create the best packaging and handling methods for glass carboys, so that this product arrives safe and sound.

Be sure to check out the Brew Hauler for safely moving a full glass carboy or the Brewery Essentials Glass Carboy Buddy for all the accessories you'll need.

Is this better than plastic?
A shopper on Nov 7, 2014
Best Answer: Glass carboys should be slightly more impermeable to oxygen and are completely inert to the beer, meaning no staining or flavor carry-over in between batches. Glass carboys are heavier and breakable, while plastic is lighter but hard to clean. Glass carboys can use our carboy brush while the plastic version will be scratched by hard bristles and must be soaked in cleaner to remove any stubborn residue.
