Details

Glass carboys are airtight, easily sanitized and do not hold an odor. They can be preferred to plastic buckets and plastic carboys because they do not scratch easily and do not break down over time. If handled carefully, a glass carboy will last decades while giving the same great performance for fermentations. Seal with a Carboy Bung for Glass Carboys - Drilled (#7081). Our packaging experts have worked hard to create the best packaging and handling methods for glass carboys, so that this product arrives safe and sound.

Nice Old World Feel Review by Peter

I have a half dozen of these now and love them. When you stand back and look at a bunch of secondary glass carboys doing their thing, you just have to smile. This 5 gallon size is NOT for fermenting in my book. Buy the bigger 6 or 6.5 for that. Buy the solid rubberish types and they stick like glue......... especially when you try to take them out after 6 weeks. But, at least they stay put when initially installed. (Posted on 4/9/13)
Don't Forget a Handle Review by Chris

There's just something about a big glass jug that makes me happy. But it's also an extremely heavy big glass jug. So be sure to get a carboy handle to go with this. (Posted on 1/18/13)
Standard blow-off hose will not fit Review by John

Seems like a standard glass carboy, but I got a nasty surprise when I was finished brewing and went to insert a standard 1-1/4" blow off hose and found that it was slightly too small for the opening. I was able to throw something together with a bung, but it would have been nice to know this before purchase. (Posted on 9/10/12)

great carboy- very durable. Bung really made me nervous. It would not stay. I had to dry the inside multiple times before the bung took. Im afraid to touch it now :)

I gave it 5 stars. I want a few more exactly like this. (Posted on 7/6/12)

It's nice to find a solid glass Carboy that's been the standard for ever. These cleanup so easy, don't get scratched and cloudy. The way everything should be made, to last and last. (Posted on 6/4/12)

One Complaint Review by brans041

This is your standard carboy, very robust, but don't drop it (obviously). One complaint that I would have would be that if you use star san, the neck gets slippery, and does not hold onto a new Carboy Bung for Glass Carboys - Drilled (SKU: 7081). Once you use the bung, it holds from then on. (Posted on 1/18/12)
