MM3 Package

This is the mill if you're brewing large batches, or want to maximize mash efficiency at any volume. Heavy-duty triple-roller homebrew mill is designed for motorization (can be powered with a corded electric drill) and features an average throughput of 8 lbs./minute and adjustable gap spacing for fine-tuning your crush.

Why three rollers?

The MM-3 crushes all your grain twice, with one pass through the mill. It starts with a preliminary crush through the initial fixed gap between the top two rollers, and then ends with a pass through the second gap between the drive roller, and the bottom third roller. The initial pass slightly flattens the grain, and gets it ready for the next crush, that breaks apart the grains and loosens the starch with minimal husk damage.

Includes roller assembly, base, and steel hopper with 11 lb. capacity - just add a corded electric drill or a 3/8" crank handle (#40673) for the ultimate pre-mash gristing experience.

Can this be used to make flour? If so, would the MM2 or mM3 be better?
A shopper on May 24, 2015
Best Answer: Mills like this are designed to crush whole grains into a coarse grist suitable for brewing. While they can be set to crush grain very well, it is not really grinding it down into a fine flour.
