MM3 Package

This is the mill if you're brewing large batches, or want to maximize mash efficiency at any volume. Heavy-duty triple-roller homebrew mill is designed for motorization (can be powered with a corded electric drill) and features an average throughput of 8 lbs./minute and adjustable gap spacing for fine-tuning your crush.

Why three rollers?

The MM-3 crushes all your grain twice, with one pass through the mill. It starts with a preliminary crush through the initial fixed gap between the top two rollers, and then ends with a pass through the second gap between the drive roller, and the bottom third roller. The initial pass slightly flattens the grain, and gets it ready for the next crush, that breaks apart the grains and loosens the starch with minimal husk damage.

Includes roller assembly, base, and steel hopper with 11 lb. capacity - just add a corded electric drill or a 3/8" crank handle (#40673) for the ultimate pre-mash gristing experience.

Roller Assembly: 6061 aluminum block frame with three 6" long x 1.5" dia. knurled steel rollers riding on SAE 841 oil- impregnated bronze bushings .060"fixed primary gap, 0-0.065" fully-adjustable secondary gap dual eccentric gap spacing adjusters, built from stainless steel to prevent galling 3/8" integral drive shaft w/3 flats for drill driving, 2" long outside frame 3/8" integral axles average throughput 8 lbs/min.

Great Mill for the money Review by Jack

I've had the Barley Crusher with the 15# hopper for around 5 years. This unit is definitely a step up. Much more solid and requires no tools to adjust. The adjustment also goes down to almost 0 for crushing specialty grains. The hopper is bolted on so it doesn't come off like the hopper on the Barley Crusher. It is also much more robust.

The shaft also has a flat cut into it, so it will be easy to attach a pulley for a motor drive.

All in all, spend the extra and get this mill rather than the Barley Crusher. (Posted on 3/13/14)

As most other reviewers have noted, there are no assembly instructions. The hopper itself is only made up of six pieces and a hand full of nuts and screws. With the exception of the presswood base, that splintered badly when I attached the mill to it, the materials are good quality. The mill itself is made of of two heavy steel knurled rollers set between two aluminum blocks with a cam adjustment on each end of one of the rollers. once I was able to get both of these cams dialed in I didn't notice any drift in the settings while milling. All-in-all it is great mill for the price. (Posted on 11/24/13)

the mill works perfect . but took a minute to look at all the parts and figure it out with no instructions but looking at the picture on this site it was really simple. the adjustment seemed minimal but makes a big difference in the crush. very impressed went from about 75% to 85+ efficiency with just this new mill, with the autosparge i'm hoping to get 90% or better mash efficiency (Posted on 9/10/13)

Great crush with the factory setting, looking forward to dialing it in further.

Yes assembly is definitely required w/o instructions but its really not that hard. (Posted on 7/27/13)
Monster Mill 3 Roller provides a consistent, easy to dial in grist. A+ Review by Ben

I will be honest, this thing came with no instructions and to a not so mechanically inclined guy like me this proved a little challenging. After finding some pictures of the assembled mill and getting very personalized service from the company, I can honestly say this thing provides a consistent, easy to dial in grist. A+ (Posted on 7/12/13)
