4° L. There are not many malt companies that produce an oat malt — we know of only Thomas Fawcett and Sons. We love oat malt for the texture and warm, grainy flavor that it adds to stouts, porters, other robust British ales.

Maybe Not SELF Converting But... Review by Jeffrey

I used it in a mash with 52% oat malt, 17% Munich, and 15% Pils and got around 65% efficiency with a 75 min mash. I probably could have ground the oat malt finer too, it is much narrower than barley. (Posted on 2/29/12)

This is delicious, but strong. Used 4 lb. in a pale ale the first time I brewed with this to see what kind of flavor I'd get from it....its good, but next time I'll cut that in half! (5 gallon batch) Hard to find good data for the PPG though. (Posted on 9/25/11)

if you are hoping to brew a 100% oat malt beer you are out of luck. i spent 6 hours waiting for it to convert and ended up throwing some 2 row in for enzymes...it just doesn't have enough diastatic power. (Posted on 4/11/11)
