Every Highrise needs a Superstructure

We’ve formulated this Incredible IPA around our exclusive Super Structure malt blend for IPAs. It provides the perfect backdrop to balance the bracing bitterness while highlighting the heady hop flavors of this American style IPA. This hop tower of power is an over the top IPA with its head in the clouds, existing somewhere in that foggy area between IPA and IIPA.

Here’s the breakdown; Warrior for clean bittering, Centennial for that classic floral/citrus flavor, and finished with a 1-2 punch of Citra and Simcoe for an intense hop finish that covers a wide range of flavors and aromas - from dank and piney to bright and fruity. The Superstructure performs just as designed, bringing malt complexity and depth of flavor without distracting from the hops. Highrise IPA with Superstructure - its a flavor skyscraper. Recommended 2-stage fermentation and yeast starter.

I brewed this about 3 months ago and I am down to my last 4 bottles. 1L yeast starter, 66-68 degrees F primary. Dry hopped in secondary and lost some volume to hop particles. I used a hop bag for my Surly Furious batch later and I wish I had done that here also. This is a balanced IPA. It is bitter but has a complex malt taste. IPA lovers enjoy it. My "summer shandy" friends can't handle it. It really hits its stride about 6 weeks after bottling. Give it time in the bottle. I'm hoarding the last few. (Posted on 9/24/14)

A fantastic brew. This is a must. The hops hit you, the malt and hop balance is fabulous. Drank this in a blind test with the Vermont Heady Topper with a group of 5 beer snobs. Hands down, everyone prefered the Highrise. Even my wonderful wife loves this brew. Worst part is she wants to share it with our visiting guests, and the beer flies out of the fridge. Amazing balance, hoppy goodness Review by Jason

Brewed this about 7 weeks ago. It spent 4 weeks in primary. I did not use secondary and used Irish moss for clarity. Dry hopped with simcoe and citra for 6 days. The galena hops are an excellent choice for this beer and the superstructure malt extract ensured that it was well balanced. After three weeks in the keg, this beer is pretty much perfect. I will absolutely keep this in regular rotation. (Posted on 4/19/14)

Racked the high rise to secondary last week. Tasted great without carbonation. I will provide an additional review once it is kegged. (Posted on 3/31/14)
