We offer this honey for its excellent value. Unlike the varietal honeys we sell, this honey is sourced from many nectar sources and then blended to produce a highly consistent product. Light-amber color, neutral flavor make this a good base for sweet, fruit, and spiced meads. Pasteurized and filtered.

I tasted this honey before boiling it for the must, and it has a nice, somewhat savory flavor -- not as light and sweet as, say, an orange blossom or even clover honey. It is nutty with a hint of oats and smokiness, so more savory but still has a fair amount of sweetness. No telling how it will turn out in the bochet, but on its own it is pretty nice, and worth saving a few bucks for this sort of purpose (I imagine it would go well with any sort of spiced mead, pumpkin ale, or even for oatmeal, pies, etc.) (Posted on 7/24/12) - perfect Review by gfunk
