Dead Ringer™ is an homage to a benchmark of the American IPA style that’s brewed in Michigan. American base malt and crystal malt create the big body and supporting grainy sweetness, while charge after charge of 100% Centennial hops deliver pronounced bitterness with a dominant citrus aroma and flavor. In the glass you get a pale amber color, hop intensity and malt density - substance with the soul of a session beer. This IPA recipe kit has been a customer favorite for over a decade.

Recommended: 2-stage fermentation and yeast starter.

We strongly recommend ordering dry yeast in the summer months. We do include complimentary ice packs with all liquid yeasts, but it is difficult to guarantee that the ice packs will survive the trip given transit times and particularly hot temperatures.

How does it taste?
A shopper on Nov 6, 2014
Best Answer: The Dead Ringer is a full-on citrus explosion. A clean, strong backbone of American malts lends a more balanced beer than is typical of your new age West Coast style IPA.

Do I need a bag for dry hopping?
A shopper on Nov 6, 2014
Best Answer: Some folks prefer to use a bag, but it's certainly not necessary and can be difficult with the narrow opening of a standard carboy. If you choose to use a bag, it should be weighted down with glass marbles or stainless steel nuts (make sure they are stainless) to keep it under the surface of the beer. Thoroughly sanitize the bag and any weights before adding them to your fermentor.

How hard is it to dry hop?
A shopper on Nov 6, 2014
Best Answer: Dry hopping is easy. You can just dump the hops into your fermentor once the initial fermentation is complete.
