Great to quickly confirm temperature. Certain temperatures are harder to read than others due to the similar dark colors. (Posted on 1/7/14)

Not having a fermentation fridge I have to use an ice bath and these have helped me to keep my primary as close to temp as possible without having to stick in a thermometor. The colors are easy to read too. (Posted on 11/1/13)

These are a good quick look at your tempature. I stick these on my carboys vertical. I out the top of the strip at the 5 gallon mark of my 6 gallon carboys. Easy guide on how much wort you have moved into your carboys. (Posted on 10/28/13)

Thick flexible plastic stick on thermometer. Easy to read, keep from soaking in water or cleaner and you won't have any issues. I have them on all my carboys and never had any problems. Been using them for 3.5 years. (Posted on 10/19/13)

I have a fermometer on every carboy I own - 1gallon, 5 gallon, and 6 gallon.

Works great for giving you a general idea of where your wort temperature stands during fermentation. Very important when you start working with yeasts that become quite fickle when wort temps vary out of their acceptable range. (Posted on 10/17/13)

I have them on all my buckets half way up since I use a swamp cooler setup so they don't get wet. Keep the water about an inch away and your good. Gives an accurate reading and easy to read. Cheap and no more guessing on the temperature. (Posted on 9/4/13)

These are fairly accurate (depends how good you are at reading the colors) and are cheap. I put hot water in my 1 gallon carboys and let it sit for a while and have had no problems with them not working afterwords so far. (Posted on 8/25/13)

Having these on all of my buckets and carboys has really helped me keep tabs on my fermentation temperatures. The only con would be that you need to prevent them from getting wet but otherwise they work great. (Posted on 7/17/13)
Inexpensive & Effective- Don't get it wet. Review by Steve

Love what it does and how much it costs. I was sloppy cleaning carboy and got it wet = $3.00 mistake. A little more careful - non issue since. (Posted on 7/12/13)
Doesn't stand up to moisture or even dampness Review by Jeff

Ruined two of these by submerging in water, so I bought two more only to have them ruined when I placed a damp t-shirt over my carboy. Sad, really, because I have a similar thermometer by another manufacturer that doesn't have this problem. (Posted on 11/9/11)
neat product, damaged by water very easily Review by matt

If you sink your carboy in a water bath the fermometer is ruined. I ruined two on the same ten gallon batch this way. I wouldn't waste my money on them again -- it seems like a better investment of a few bucks to buy a Taylor probe thermometer and tape it to the side of the carboy and cover it with insulation. You get a much more dependable reading and you can use it for cooking turkey too -- good luck doing THAT with a fermometer! ;) (Posted on 7/14/11)

Work very well and are surprisingly accurate compared to a temp controller. Just be careful if you attach this to something that you later wash with really hot water (like a bucket or something). The high temp will kill them. (Posted on 12/14/10)
I use these on all my carboys Review by JByer323

When I pick up a new carboy, I always grab one of these as well. They're fairly accurate, react quickly, and offer a quick, easy way to make sure you're fermentation temperature is what it should be. (Posted on 11/1/10)
