Decent beer with age Review by Darin

Reviewing this after letting this mellow for about 4 or 5 months. It's true, this beer is a bit out of whack when it is young, but it does balance out nicely. That being said I'm a far bigger fan of west coast IPAs, so the British style isn't quite up my alley. (Posted on 12/17/13)
Awesome - smooth to drink and nice balance Review by Pete

Nice clear brown color and nice balance between the malt and hops flavors. It took a couple of weeks in the keg to take the "roughness" off the hops but well worth the wait - I'll be brewing this one again (Posted on 12/3/13)
Ages Well Review by Mike

I like this one a lot but not as well as the English IPA that NB discontinued, seemingly to promote this one. It is harsh if you drink it too soon, so it really has to age. Luckily you can still brew the discontinued one a la carte. But IPA fans will still love this. (Posted on 10/29/13)
A+ IPA Review by Jim

This is a great tasting IPA. Fruity and yeasty flavors. If you are a fan of the IPA, you need to brew this one. Be patient and wait the directed time. No need to rush. This one is on the list to brew again . . . and again! (Posted on 8/25/13)

Good, but can be great Review by Alexander

I ended up with around 7.3% alcohol using the max recommended time in primary and secondary. I may have let the dry hops sit a little long at 15 days but I needed to make some room in an occupied keg first. I really like the beer but I think the balance between malt and hops is a little off (likely my fault). I've done some other northern brewer IPA's and they turned out a bit better, especially the Kiwi, but it's a whole different type of IPA. I will probably try this one again and taste more regularly during dry hopping get the balance I wanted. Definitely has the potential for a 5 star kit. (Posted on 5/7/13)

Awesome IPA Review by Matthew

Just opened a bottle of this and I must say this is an amazing beer kit. Pitched with a 1L yeast starter. Had violent fermentation within 12 hours that required a blow-off tube. Took over 3 weeks to reach a terminal gravity of 1.013 (~7.1% ABV). Dry hopped for 12 days with a cold crash the last two days and bottled. Tastes great, well balanced with floral and fruity hops to go with sweet and bready malts. I'd say this is like an amped up Fuller's London Pride. Would definitely brew this again.
