Fits standard, pry-off beer bottles. Do not use twist-off bottles! These caps have an oxygen-scavenging liner that can help reduce oxidation and staling. 144 per bag. For best results, do not use an oxidizing cleaner or sanitizer such as One-Step or Easy Clean on caps. Other sanitizers such as Iodophor or Star San work fine. Caps are activated when wet and should only be wet just before or after bottling, do not attempt to store and reuse caps that have been exposed to liquid.

- Not the best for natural carbonating Review by Trent

I have used a mixture of gold and silver caps ( these) on 3 batches. I found that on lower gravity beers that the carbonation was poor using these. I think im going back to good ol' gold caps. (Posted on 10/20/12)Rating - under carbonated Review by Darren

I agree with another post for this product; my beer is undercarbonated when I use these caps.Rating
Regular caps are cheaper, and more importantly will allow your beer to carbonate normally. (Posted on 4/6/12) - Carbonation issues Review by dv

I've used these on 2 batches (with standard bottles) and I have the opposite experience as others in that my beers do not seem to carbonate as well when I use these caps. I've even split a recent batch, using regular caps and these caps. The bottles with these caps are under-carbonated. (Posted on 1/6/12)Rating - The Only Cap for an IPA Review by BIg Shooter

In the past I have noticed that my IPAs loose "something" over time. Well last night I cracked open the second to last bottle of my "best ever IPA" and was shocked to see that I had bottled it exactly 3 months ago. My expectations faded like so much hop flavor, until I took the first sip. This one tasted great! In fact, I thought it tasted just like it did 2 months ago.Rating
It wasn't until later that I solved the mystery - silver cap. I too had wondered if the "oxygen absorbing" cap could really work. And it really does! All of my hop forward beers will be getting these caps from now on.
Like the second reviewer, I also think that they carb faster. So, you win on both sides drink them sooner and keep them longer. (Posted on 5/23/11) - Awesome - Carbs Quicker Review by Yooper Brewer

I've used these for a few batches and I've found that the beers are ready to drink earlier. I haven't noticed a difference on the longevity, but most of my beers don't last that long.Rating
No issues capping them, they work just as well as a standard cap. (Posted on 2/16/11) - Peace of mind Review by Dylan

Just tried these for the first time. At first I was very disappointed as they didn't seem to seal properly on top of the bottles, but then I realized it was because I was using Corona empties - they must end in a fatter neck. With standard brown 12 and 16oz bottles the fit was great. Not sure how much of a difference the oxygen absorption element will make, but it's a small price for the peace of mind if you'll be laying down some bottles for a while. - Mankind's second greatest achievement, right behind the creation of beer, is certainly the bottle cap. No more clumsy wineskins or clay pots. Now you can have your beer on the go. 144 beers at a time. (Posted on 11/12/10)
