An improved twin-lever capper. A magnet holds the cap in place and the levers are fitted with springs, giving you added leverage and smoother crimping motion.

- No Broken Bottles! Review by James

I've only used this capper on one bottling (about 40 bottles). I'm giving it five stars because it works far better than the black one that comes with the brewing kit. I don't feel like I'm going to break the bottle every time I push down on it. I used to break bottles every time with the black capper. This one is much better, and, for the first time, I didn't break any bottles while bottling. (Posted on 1/12/13)Rating - works and is cheap Review by M Barnhill

I have used mine for three years and it just works. I've been kegging for about 2 years, but still bottle a few beers from each batch. I have some wear on mine and it's starting to break down a little, but I probably will just buy another versus buying something three times as much and not getting much better quality. 3 to 4 years at under $20 seems reasonable. Not exactly the best thing I've ever used, but it does what it's meant to do and (with a few false starts) does it well. I still sometimes don't quite get it on the bottle right and have to re-cap, but that's user error. (Posted on 5/25/12)Rating - Easy, Reliable & Durable Review by seedsofchaos

I've used the Red Baron solely for 3 years of homebrewing and the only thing that has happened to it in those 3 years is a bit of plastic chipped off. This, of course, did not affect usability. I recently purchased a 29mm capper bell from NB and now can bottle and cap beers with both standard American caps and 29mm Euro caps for 750ml bottles. Replacing the capper bell is as simple as unscrewing one and screwing on the other.Rating
The Red Baron is a versatile capper and will last you a long time if you use it correctly and always use the correct caps with the correct capper bell. (Posted on 1/31/12) - Works as advertised Review by gd1147

Did not buy from Northern home brew, but have the same capper. Works flawlessly. Very minimal effort to cap a bottle. Seems well built. (Posted on 1/14/12)Rating - Works for me, for years Review by Uncle Al

I put messages in bottles into the ocean, typically 100 champagne bottles a whack for their survivability, 26 mm (American) and 29 mm (European) necks. The Red Baron flies flawlessly for snugging the second of seven barriers against sunlight and salt water. It works for me.Rating

I used the Black capper for a couple of years, and this is much nicer. It is much easier to crimp and requires less force, which means fewer problems. I've bottled well over a couple thousand bottles over the course of a few years with this one and it still caps like the day I got it. I don't know why anyone would buy a more expensive capper. Worked great for three months and then the plastic cracked! I had to rush my primed beer back into secondary ("thirdondary") and had a few more beers while I cussed the whole botched operation for the rest of night.Rating
not happy, will not replace with the same product, for I will buy a more expensive product! (Posted on 3/13/11) - It's been very reliable for me Review by Rich

I've been brewing since Nov 2008 and I've only had one Red Baron capper for the whole time. I've never had a problem and it still works like it did out of the box. I've never aped down on it hard nor have I washed it either because it doesn't get dirty. Why sanitize it? It only touches the top of the cap and the sides of the bottle below the cap.Rating
In summery: It's inexpensive and easy to use. Just press on each cap firmly but without excessive force. And, again, there is no need to sanitize it. I've bottle hundreds of beers and had no trouble. (Posted on 3/8/11) - good capper for the price. Review by uberhunt

Works great, it makes bottling 3-5 gallons easy.Rating
so easy a caveman can do it. (Posted on 8/25/10) - works well but will rust Review by urracadan

Used this capper two years now, still works flawlessly. Everything gets sanitized including the capper with BTF Iodophor. I've replaced everything metal ie bottle filler with spring to gravity fed. The bell, spring and bottle jaws on this capper have rusted very badly and no replacements I know of are available. So, for the price buy another one and if you do sanitize your capper dry it thorughly and put a little oil on it (Posted on 8/16/10)Rating - Proper use will go a long way Review by Highway

Ive used mine on over a thousand bottles and it still works great. I think the trick is to not put more pressure then you need. Keep in mind that you,re only krimping a little bottle cap so dont try to do a handstand on it. Overkill will break it. If used properly it will last quite a long time. (Posted on 6/9/10)Rating
