Standard Chiller 3/8"x25' with vinyl tubing

Our best-selling immersion chiller is made from 25 feet of 3/8" copper tubing. Includes vinyl tubing for cold water in and warm water out, and a female garden hose thread fitting that will fasten to most utility sinks.

Approximate dimensions: 6-7" to the top of the coils, 9.5" in diameter, 15.5" to the top of the chiller. Some slight deformation may occur in shipping, but the soft copper tubing can be easily bent back to these specifications.

Decent Chiller Review by Aaron

Took about 5 to 10 min to cool down my 2.5 gallon batch to pitching temps. worked pretty good. Have to see how it does when I increase the batch size. (Posted on 5/21/12)
I'm chillin' with this device and I'll never go back Review by RAF from MKE

Don't write many reviews but when I find a product that makes my life mucho easier, I've just gotta say this is the cat's meow. I'm still not up to full boils yet so have been limping along with a sack of ice and my sink. But now that I popped for this chiller, I'm so much happier and my wort is in the primary way sooner. Never did have any problem with leaking but I did test it completely before using for real the 1st time.
This is a real time-saver. I really, really glad that I got it. (Posted on 5/21/12)
Excellent buy Review by Joshua

Well my initial thoughts were surprised by its small stature. I soon discovered why this item has such great reviews. I tool my wort from 170 deg to 80 deg in about 3 minutes. Granted I live in North New York and the ground water from my water spigot is still ice cold, I think if your considering buying a wort chiller and your doing 5 gallon batches this is the way to go.

The only thing that limits it (and i think the manufacturer did this on purpose so they can sell larger ones) is that they soldered the copper so that you can not stretch it out to fit larger batches.

But if you are brewing 5 gallon batches this is the way to go.

Why did I wait so long ... Review by Bill

When I paid $70 bucks for this, I kicked my self hard. Not for spending the money but for not spending the money earlier!

Brewed for years using an ice bath or just playing the waiting game. What a moron I was ... this is worth every penny.

I looked at the local Home Debit store and did the math - the price difference between home made and NB was a wash (NB was slightly cheaper) so I figured that rather that try to make it myself and ruin several feet of flex copper tube when I kinked it, I'd take the easy way out. So worth it.

I drop this into my brew kettle at 15min left in my boil and let it sanitize itself. When the wort is really hot, I run water through at a pretty high rate - as long as it is coming out hot, I keep the rate up (I actually catch some of that water in an old brew pot and use it to clean up). As the temp drops, I drop the flow rate to save water. Works great - boil to 80F in about an hour.

Can't believe I waited so long to get one. (Posted on 2/9/12)

If you are looking for a wort chiller, buy this one. One clamp leaked a little bit so I had to tighten it. I will never use a ice bath again. (Posted on 2/4/12)
great for >5 gallon chilling. Review by Sean

This is a great IC for 3-4 gallon boils. It lowered my wort temp from 210ish to 75 in about 12-15 minutes. Ive never touched the clamps and havent had a hose leak after about 5 batches. Def a great buy. It really negates the hassle of an ice bath and 30 min cool times. (Posted on 1/29/12)
Great chiller - tighten clamps Review by Angelicw

Good quality chiller that is exactly what was advertised. Boyfriend bought it for me for my Christmas and I couldn't be happier with it. The hose that hooks up to the faucet dripped a little where it connects to the copper if I turned the faucet water on all the way, but if I turned it down to about half the full flow it didn't drip at all. Tightened the hose clamp a bit and added another one for security, absolutely no drips even if I had the faucet on all the way. Highly recommended chiller. (Posted on 1/5/12)
Effective cooler but mine has leaked every time Review by Tim

Save yourself the hassle and spend a few extra dollars on the one with brass hose fittings.
I have used this three times and every time it has leaked. After the first time I even added Teflon tape and an extra hose clamp. You can only tighten the fittings so much given how soft copper is. (Posted on 1/4/12)
Manadatory equipment for any brewer Review by stephen

Forget about dealing with a ice water bath in a sink crawling with unwanted microbes and buy this product. After testing the fittings for leaks I brewed a batch of Chinook IPA and had it perfectly chilled to pitching temp in less than 10 minutes. I will be triming the vinyl leads down to a more managable length before my next brew session. A very user friendly product! (Posted on 1/2/12)
works great - a tip to avoid water waste Review by Doug

As said in other reviews, tighten the hose clamps when you first get it. Then it just does the job! Will bring 5 gallons of wort down to 80 degrees in less than ten minutes using Chicago tap water. To avoid wasting water, I rigged up a cheap pond pump from amazon, put it at the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket, filled it with water and frozen water bottles/ice and connected the pump output to the chiller, and put the chiller output right back in the bucket to make a closed system. This works even faster and doesn't waste water! (Posted on 11/3/11)
