Excellent airlock. Since this is a dry airlock, it works great when chilling the beer (no star stan will sucked into the carboy). The reviewer David must not be using the right concentration of PBW. I clean my dry traps all the time with PBW and never had a problem. (Posted on 5/13/12)

Plastics non-compatable with PBW Review by David

The design of the dry trap is very clever and they worked well until they disintegrated. I would like to give a big WARNING to anyone thinking about purchasing these traps that if you soak them in PBW to remove trub then there is a good chance the plastics will break down and be rendered useless. The first time that it happened, Better Bottle replaced them and told me to watch my level of PBW in my soak water. The second time that they disintegrated I just threw them out and replaced them with rubber bungs and three piece air locks. I don't want any brewing equipment that can't be soaked in PBW. And yes Better Bottle is fully aware of the problem, a little design flaw which they wish to ignore. The Better Bottle stoppers will also disintegrate in PBW.
