Its reputation is well earned, as it makes delicious wines! The Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma produces some of the most sought-after wines in the world. With its combination of well drained, rich volcanic soil, long California growing seasons, copious sunshine and cool coastal breezes, it produces grapes of powerful and unique intensity. Winexpert Sonoma Dry Creek Valley Unwooded Chardonnay is a fresh, well-balanced wine with typical Chardonnay characteristics of tropical citrus aromas and flavors. Unusual in a Chardonnay, these components shine through undimmed by oak: while some wines use the vanilla and smoke of oaking to add structure and depth, the fruit quality of these grapes is allowed to come through, and the rich, round mouthful lingers to a long, crisp finish. I usually drink and prefer reds over whites. When I do drink White it's usually an Italian Pinot G but this has definately become my favorite white. Very drinkable: fruity but dry and refreshing all at once. I started drinking it at 2 months and it's now been only 6 months in the bottle, seems to keep getting better. I have a lot of wines in my cellar but I'm going to start a new one of these kits soon in hopes that I'll always have some of this on hand. (Posted on 1/20/11)

My wife loves this chardonnay. I don't really like white wines, and I could easily drink this for hours. the description is dead on, but I don't pick up the flavors as strongly as they sound. Great kit, well worth the money. (Posted on 1/1/11)

We are making our 3rd kit of this beautiful, golden, unoaked Chardonnay within the first year of winemaking. We are usually members of the "big dry red" club, but this wine is smooth, bright, and wonderfully flavorful. Our friends like this, as we do, better than any Chardonnay they have ever had. That's why we are making enough to attempt to get to at least a year of aging! Great with food or just sipping on the patio. (Posted on 7/11/10)
