- Poor Craftsmanship but Better Than Nothing Review by Matthew

the summary of my review says it all. This filler will probably get you through many batches, but why endure the headache? The main problem has adequately been described by others in that how finnicky this is and it's easy to overfill a bottle or bump it and loose beer. I'm planning on looking into the spring loaded filler. (Posted on 1/30/12)Rating - Bad design Review by olismith

I don't know who designed this thing, but it's horrible - as the other reviews have said - every 3rd bottle it won't close and you overfill your bottle and spray all over the place. DO NOT BUY this - get the spring loaded one that is actually cheaper! (Posted on 1/10/12)Rating - Works pretty well Review by Dan

This has lasted me around a year now with no serious problems. I had it get stuck and spray beer once or twice but was easy to stop that and was probably as much user error as the product. (Posted on 12/5/11)Rating - It K Review by Ronald Jeremy

Got this filler with my beer kit. It is mediocre at best. I'm not sure if it came with a fitting to attach to the spigot, but I had to cut off a piece of my siphon tube for that. The big problem with this filler is that when filling bottles, if you knick the spout to it's side, it gets stuck and it will pour beer all over the floor. Make sure you have a bowl underneath when using. (Posted on 11/14/11)Rating - soft touch Review by SB in Clovis

I used this filler for 15 batches and it started to drip a bit so I bought the spring loaded filler. I found that I liked the light touch with this filler better than the heavier feel with the spring loaded filler. Now I just have my empty bottle ready to ensure I don't lose a drop. It is annoying that it can't seem to be cleaned to stop the drip, but I guess for $2.99 you can't be too picky. 22 batches and counting -20 of them with this filler. My bottle filler is about 2 years old and has been used to transfer and bottle about 8 batches of beer. It has never been dropped or exposed to extreme heat -- only what comes out of the faucet for cleaning. It's also stored out of the direct sunlight. It's now forming cracks all over the surface of the plastic. (Posted on 8/4/11)Rating - drips Review by Brewmiser

This filler works very well most of the time. I had the same problem, as many other reviewers did, with the valve getting stuck against the plastic guards on the bottom and spraying excess beer. Also it was easy to accidentally open the valve brushing the lip of the bottle. All in all this product is good enough to fill your first few bottles with, especially if you get it in your starter kit. Eventually I will upgrade. I've bottled six brews with this filler and it works pretty good. I've never had trouble with it sticking and peeing beer, but it does have a light touch and I frequently loose beer by accidentally tapping it against something. When it breaks I'll probably go with the spring loaded version, but I don't see any reason to toss it. (Posted on 5/10/11)Rating - Works fine for what it is! Review by nymtber

I read all the reviews here before bottling my first batch, and got worried that I might need to buy the better (spring loaded) bottle filler. I was wrong! This worked just fine for me. Might have lost a drop here and there, but nothing major. It came in my Deluxe brew kit from NB. Left very even headspace, and it allowed me not to spill much beer at all. If it ever breaks, I will buy the spring loaded version, but for now it works fine! (Posted on 5/5/11)Rating
