- Doesn't stand up to moisture or even dampness Review by Jeff

Ruined two of these by submerging in water, so I bought two more only to have them ruined when I placed a damp t-shirt over my carboy. Sad, really, because I have a similar thermometer by another manufacturer that doesn't have this problem. (Posted on 11/9/11)Rating - neat product, damaged by water very easily Review by matt

If you sink your carboy in a water bath the fermometer is ruined. I ruined two on the same ten gallon batch this way. I wouldn't waste my money on them again -- it seems like a better investment of a few bucks to buy a Taylor probe thermometer and tape it to the side of the carboy and cover it with insulation. You get a much more dependable reading and you can use it for cooking turkey too -- good luck doing THAT with a fermometer! ;) (Posted on 7/14/11)Rating - Cheap info Review by Mark

An inexpensive item that takes the guessing out of fermenter temps. Use one oeach carboy and you won't regreat the $3.00 (Posted on 5/20/11)Rating - Cheap information Review by Mark

Have added these to all of my carboys and buckets to keep the temperatures right. Accuracy seems very good.Rating

Work very well and are surprisingly accurate compared to a temp controller. Just be careful if you attach this to something that you later wash with really hot water (like a bucket or something). The high temp will kill them. (Posted on 12/14/10)Rating - I use these on all my carboys Review by JByer323

When I pick up a new carboy, I always grab one of these as well. They're fairly accurate, react quickly, and offer a quick, easy way to make sure you're fermentation temperature is what it should be. (Posted on 11/1/10)Rating
