Northern Brewer Dark malt syrup is a blend of pale malt with some caramel 60, Munich, and black malt. It creates a dark wort with a smooth taste, suitable for Porters, Stouts, and all other dark beer styles. Approximately 30L, 1.036 ppg. Our malt jugs are made from BPA-free plastic. Dark rich flavor & great for stouts Review by SlednFL

Created a great stout with flavor of chocolate, coffee, caramel and roasted grains. OG was 1.070 and final was 1.018 (with a little lactose). Will definitely use again. Even with the higher ABV the falvor was remarkable with no traces of the higher alcohol. Great product! (Posted on 9/28/11)

Used 6.6 lbs. of NB Dark Malt Syrup for a batch of dry stout. I have been doing research and brewers have stated that dried extract is the way to go, but I gave the house brand syrup a shot. I was pleased I did. This syrup performed impressively during the boil, did not stick nor scorch on the bottom of the pan. It provided a smooth, malty flavor that was fresh, slightly sweet and dry. dont be afraid of the dark. smooth and slightly sweet.. can do many many types of brews by use of different yeasts, hops, and base grains. wonderfull english dark ales.very good german darks as well.
Every time I order I get at least one bottle of the dark.
