This was 15th brew and after brewing several stouts it struck me as rather thin. But no matter. I find it tastes best served close to room temperature and conditioned in pint bottles. A very drinkable light-ish ale. (Posted on 3/27/12)Rating - Great session beer Review by 63Biscuit

After picking up a copy of "The Homebrewer's Garden", I decided to try brewing this with some Blessed Thistle. 2oz. the kettle for the full 60 min. boil. Turned out wonderful - right between a mild and a bitter for ABV, with a really nicely balanced finish that begs me to come back and drink more. Hophead friends and those that prefer maltier libations alike have complimented this batch. (Posted on 10/19/11)Rating - Great Starter Review by Rob

For a quick kit brew, this is a wonderful recipe to get your feet wet with. (Posted on 7/2/11)Rating - Very Good Beer Review by jamesjensen

If you want a hop heavy beer or something high in alcohol, then this is not the beer for you. On the other hand if you want a well balanced session beer with a very clean profile, by all means brew this beer. I bottled this kit and it turned out great. Carb to style and you won't be disappointed. When I get around to building a beer engine....I want to make this and the British Bitter to put on cask. Cheers! I was pretty impressed with this one. First time I have made it. Reminded me of home (England). This is pretty typical of a British low cost "best" bitter as served in any local pub in the UK. You need to serve it warm (55degF) to get the true flavour and set your pressure low, it should be nearly flat by US standards. May not be everyone's favourite in the US but I'll be making it again! This was my first brew, bottled it 12 days ago after 2 weeks in the primary, I am happy to say that it is not flat. no hops what so ever can be tasted, it's all malt with no bitter. After reading some of the reviews i guess i need it to let sit for a longer time. (Posted on 2/22/11)Rating - Not Bad if you Kick it up A bit Review by LouDog

I Did the all grain kit, I added the yeast from my California Common and a 4oz. Bag of corn suger. The CC yeast was very active and added great flavor... I wanted a cheap beer that I could play with and it came out fine, and the added corn suger kicked up the ABV about another 1.5% so not to shabby... I was not really excited about this one, but it's pretty much what I expected. As the description says there is low (I would say no) bitterness and a strong malty flavor. I wish I had calculated the ABV of this one prior to bottling because I'm convinced it was around 1.2%.Rating
I just noticed the description mentions a "long, cool fermentation". I didn't see this before, but it would probably help this one along if you decide to brew it. Used the dry yeast, 2.5 weeks primary, bottle condition 3 weeks.
Given the price it could probably serve someone well for an upcomming party. Just don't invite me :) (Posted on 1/7/11) - definitely a session beer Review by JBmadtown

This was my second kit and I was using a lower priced kit to work on my technique. The end product was okay... My wife liked it. It was a low gravity session beer with a mild malty aftertaste and essentially no bitterness.Rating
Personally, I probably won't do this kit again. I am looking for fuller flavors and more body. If you are in the mood for a refreshing malty session beer this is a good choice for the price. (Posted on 9/15/10) - My everyday beer Review by Paul319

Nice and easy, cheap, a perfect everyday drinking beer.Rating
As little wife above said, on beer tasting night all the women gravitate to this lighter beer.
