It's brown, it's named after a large North American ungulate, and its name suggests oral incontinence. Ah, we market product with our minds, but we drink beer with our mouths! Which is why this American brown ale is your new favorite session beer. Dense layers of malt, caramel, baking chocolate, and a hint of light-roast coffee give way to reveal a hop character you'll be surprised to find if you're used to drinking English brown ale. The finish is complex but balanced, and the gravity is not so high as to keep you from having another.

Proud to serve this one Review by Steve

Slobber is a great flavor beer. The grain flavors and mild hop finish carry through very well. Great body and heady pour. Will put this in my brew rotation for sure. Made me a fan of brown ale. Friends who try it really enjoy it. One girl who only drinks blue can light beer exclaimed " it tastes like Christmas in a cup". Winning friends over to the home brew side with this one. This was one of our first brews and it turned out great. Easy to brew and this beer only gets better the longer it sits. Be patient and you'll happy. (Posted on 3/7/14)

I received the Deluxe Starter Kit for Christmas with the Caribou Slobber. 2 weeks in primary, 3 weeks in secondary and let it bottle condition for 2 more weeks. Got great reviews from 3 different brewers at work. Love the taste of this beer ! Will definitely brew this again ! (Posted on 3/6/14)
An excellent brown ale! Review by Shawn

I think this is my 4th brew from NB and I highly recommend it! I don't normally go for brown ales, but the reviews changed my mind on this one. I'm sure glad they did! I let it go 2 weeks in the primary, 4 weeks in the secondary and kegged it. It's actually getting better with age!

Be careful when you're boiling your wort and adding the hops - you'll want to drink it! (Posted on 2/27/14)

This was my first brew and I really enjoyed it. It was a small batch and was consumed very quickly. I will be getting this one again, now that I am making large batch.

Slobber gets two thumbs up Review by Jeff

Looks like I am reviewer number 300 on this kit. Today I popped open my first bottle. This stuff is amazing...even after one week in the bottle! From what I have read this one only gets better in time. I left in Primary for 3 weeks...racked to bottle bucket then bottled. OG was 1.056 and it finished at 1.020. This gave me a 4.73 ABV. I will be brewing this one again for sure...it will be in my rotation! (Posted on 2/24/14)
Good value Review by Brandon

Since my kegerator was empty I only let this one go ten days primary, 10 days secondary, 7 days carb and still darn good. This is a very sessionable beer that should appeal to non-beer snobs and craft beer drinkers alike. After I work my way through some more similar session brews I'll be running this one again. It's good on its own, but a blank enough palate to experiment to your own tastes. (Posted on 2/18/14)

Chose this to go with my deluxe starter kit even though I typically don't drink brown ales. Very easy to brew, even for a complete newbie. Week and a half in primary, racked to secondary and left it another two weeks. Two weeks after bottling it was perfectly carbonated and decent flavor-wise. It's about a month after bottling now and it really tastes great. Only brown ale I'll drink from now on. (Posted on 2/12/14)
Fantastic Complex Brown Ale Review by Charles

Wonderful brown ale with a nice complex hop character. I brewed the extract kit and it is excellent! No wateriness, not overly sweet and the hop additions work perfectly with the various malt flavors. I tried it green at 2-weeks while racking to the secondary, again at 4 weeks when bottling and once more at 5 weeks. Each time, the taste was better blended and the character more well rounded.
