It's brown, it's named after a large North American ungulate, and its name suggests oral incontinence. Ah, we market product with our minds, but we drink beer with our mouths! Which is why this American brown ale is your new favorite session beer. Dense layers of malt, caramel, baking chocolate, and a hint of light-roast coffee give way to reveal a hop character you'll be surprised to find if you're used to drinking English brown ale. The finish is complex but balanced, and the gravity is not so high as to keep you from having another.

This was my beer that I've ever brewed. Great beer and I will brew this beer again in the near future. (Posted on 4/10/14)
All around great Brown Review by Scott

Brown Ales can often be boring and lifeless. Not this one. This came with my 5-gallon brewing kit. Despite being an extract, you really taste the maltiness. It has a heavier body for a brown which feels nice on the tongue. It also has flavors of caramel and light coffee.

I used the Danstar that came with it. It was sufficient for the brew without a starter. I did need to use a blow off tube for a day, but it settled nicely after. I did two weeks in primary, 2 in secondary, two in bottle before initial opening. I then left the bottles at cellar temperatures and found the best flavor balance around 2 months.

All around great beer. Will likely be a repeat! (Posted on 4/7/14)

Excellent little kit! I almost wish it wasn't so delicious and easy to drink, so it would last longer… (Posted on 3/28/14)

I brewed this ale following the instructions. It's an easy and FUN beer to create. After bottle conditioning for two weeks, it tasted great. I've just popped the top on one after 9 months and the flavors are really coming through!!! It's now an awesome beer. Nice caramel malty flavor kinda rum-raison coming out at the end. I will most certainly keep this one in my rotation. (Posted on 3/20/14)

Slobber is a great flavor beer. The grain flavors and mild hop finish carry through very well. Great body and heady pour. Will put this in my brew rotation for sure. Made me a fan of brown ale. Friends who try it really enjoy it. One girl who only drinks blue can light beer exclaimed " it tastes like Christmas in a cup". Winning friends over to the home brew side with this one. This was one of our first brews and it turned out great. Easy to brew and this beer only gets better the longer it sits. Be patient and you'll happy. (Posted on 3/7/14)

I received the Deluxe Starter Kit for Christmas with the Caribou Slobber. 2 weeks in primary, 3 weeks in secondary and let it bottle condition for 2 more weeks. Got great reviews from 3 different brewers at work. Love the taste of this beer ! Will definitely brew this again ! (Posted on 3/6/14)
An excellent brown ale! Review by Shawn

I think this is my 4th brew from NB and I highly recommend it! I don't normally go for brown ales, but the reviews changed my mind on this one. I'm sure glad they did! I let it go 2 weeks in the primary, 4 weeks in the secondary and kegged it. It's actually getting better with age!

Be careful when you're boiling your wort and adding the hops - you'll want to drink it! (Posted on 2/27/14)
