It's brown, it's named after a large North American ungulate, and its name suggests oral incontinence. Ah, we market product with our minds, but we drink beer with our mouths! Which is why this American brown ale is your new favorite session beer. Dense layers of malt, caramel, baking chocolate, and a hint of light-roast coffee give way to reveal a hop character you'll be surprised to find if you're used to drinking English brown ale. The finish is complex but balanced, and the gravity is not so high as to keep you from having another.

Excellent! Review by Jeff

I brewed this one in the beginning of November and had a few during Christmas. Not too bad. But I let the rest sit for 3 months (Dec. Jan. Feb.) and last weekend I opened up a few with some friends and boy was it good. Nice head, great dark, chocolate color, and the mouth feel was excellent. The longer you let this one sit, the better it gets! (Posted on 3/3/11)

This has an excellent taste and really good after 6-8 weeks. Even though my fermentation period was a bit short (3 days) and stopped before all sugar was converted (I think I did not oxygenate been adequately before pitching dry yeast) and I had some bottle explosions, the beer was great. I just opened all the bottles in my five gallon bucket (they foamed up a lot) let the foam settle, and then transferred it to 2.5 gallon keg and re-pressurized. Awesome beer. (Posted on 2/26/11)

This was my first beer to ever brew and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I have never tasted a beer that is as good as this.( I should probably move away from MS so I can get some good beer.) I truthfully dread my friends asking to try it because I want it all for myself. (Posted on 2/24/11)
AWESOME!!!! Review by GoGators
I have made this kit 4 times now for my wife--she can't get enough of the 'Bou Slobber. I'm not much of a brown ale fan and I really like this ale. I have racked to secondary for at least 4 weeks each time. I can't tell you if it gets better with age after that because the longest a keg has lasted has been 18 days--and we were on vacation for 7 of those!!!
If you are a brown ale fan--or even if you're on the fence--I strongly encourage you to try this. You won't be disappointed!! Time to order 2 more kits for the "boss lady" 'cause if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody in this house happy!!! (Posted on 2/22/11)

My wife gave me a brewing kit for Christmas. This was my very first attempt at brewing. Very good flavor, smooth and not at all bitter. Friend of mine who has brewed before, said he never had brewed anything this good. I will brew this again in the future. (Posted on 2/20/11)

I got this kit for Christmas, around the same time I tried Dogfish Head's Indian Brown Ale, a well-hopped Brown Ale. I liked it a lot and decided to hop this kit accordingly. After a 4 week stay in the secondary, 3 of which were dry-hopped with 2 ounces of Cascade, I have my best beer yet. (Posted on 2/19/11)

This was my first kit from NB and only my second attempt at brewing. Followed the directions to a "T". About 10 days in the primary and an additional 2 weeks in the secondary. Racked the brew right to a keg and pressurized it to 30 psi for 48 hours. Everyone that has tried it loves it. Its going to be hard to keep this one on hand. Already have a second batch in the primary. (Posted on 2/15/11)

I am new to brewing and this was my 3rd batch in 4 months. This was the BEST by far. My friends are loving it! I am still trying a bunch of different recipies to see what I like/dislike but I may need to purchase a third keg so I can always keep this one on hand. (Posted on 2/13/11)
