It's brown, it's named after a large North American ungulate, and its name suggests oral incontinence. Ah, we market product with our minds, but we drink beer with our mouths! Which is why this American brown ale is your new favorite session beer. Dense layers of malt, caramel, baking chocolate, and a hint of light-roast coffee give way to reveal a hop character you'll be surprised to find if you're used to drinking English brown ale. The finish is complex but balanced, and the gravity is not so high as to keep you from having another.

Excellent! Review by Jeffro

I will definitely be brewing this one again! A great clone of a great beer. The flavor is smooth, and is even better as the beer warms. (Posted on 2/11/11)
What a nice suprise Review by Brian

I have never had the opportunity to try the beer this is based on, but if it is anything like this it is one damn good beer! The NB description to this beer is spot on and I am really impressed how good this came out. There is a coffee/chocolate opening that has a nice maltiness to it and just when you think it is going to go too far down the sweet path the hops show up and balance it out just right. 5 Stars and I will definately be brewing this one again soon (I will need to with how fast it is being consumed). Amazing! Review by beatrixkiddo

I just popped one of these open the other night and It is by far one of the most delicious beers I have tasted. I did a secondary ferm. and let it sit for about 5 months, I bottles a couple straight from the primary and they were good, kind of like a more hoppy Bass.

However, letting this beer sit was the best idea, I don't really know what to compare this beer to.It's so smooth and has one of the best tastes on the palate out of any beer I've previously brewed. This beer is definitely one of my new favorites and I will be brewing this again, I may do a double batch just to stock up on these. I don't want to share this with anyone, I may even hide some on myself their disappearing so fast. (Posted on 2/2/11)

Superb session beer Review by Acacia

This really is a fantastic beer. Straightforward, a bit more complex than one might expect. If you drink it very young (1 week after bottling), it has a drier, hoppier taste. If you give it a few weeks, the flavor becomes more mellow and richer. I see myself ordering this kit again very soon. (Posted on 1/19/11)
Sorta OK, I guess.... Review by Baldylocks

I shoulda known better, cause I'm not a bug fan of the original, but I let myself get sucked in by the excellent reviews saying that it was "better" than the original. Still a decent brown ale, just not as flavorful as some of the other reviews would suggest. I've had it in the keg for almost 2 months and still pretty much the same. Just OK. (Posted on 1/14/11)

Was a little skeptical about this beer after tasting moose drool as i didn't like the nutty taste of moose drool. this beer totally blows the drool away! is an excellent all around beer. Everyone else i have let try loves it also! Will brew this one again! (Posted on 1/1/11)
