This was my first attempt at mead and it turned out to be great! Very easy to make with a basic wine kit. After aging it a few months I tried it and was not impressed at all. Tasted like honey flavored detergent. I thought I had a bad batch or had screwed things up. Well I went through a move and the carboy got put in the basement and I forgot about it for 15 months. I discovered it recently and decided to try it again. It is just fantastic now! I bought a local semi-sweet mead and had a taste comparison, and this simply blew away the commercial mead. It is now bottled and I hope to continue aging several bottles to see how it improves. (Posted on 8/3/10)
