Why make a 5 Gallon batch when you can modify your recipe and make a 6 gallon batch instead with no additional work? (Posted on 4/12/12)Rating - I have two of these for primary fermentations Review by Jon

These are the perfect size for primary fermentation. I usually aim to get about 5.5 gallons for primary, that way I can rack about 5 out for secondary. It's not a 5 gallon batch if you only pull 4 gallons with a gallon lost to sediment and blowoff. Plenty of head room, never have to use a blowoff tube. (Posted on 1/23/12)Rating
