John Palmer was just another dedicated homebrewer who happened to have a great web site devoted to teaching others how to brew. As time went on this site grew and became a valuable and detailed resource for homebrewers of all levels. After many inquiries for a printed version, John published this exhaustive homebrewing tutorial and reference, and he did it from the perspective of a real homebrewer. For the beginner, this book offers clear and concise instruction that utilizes the most up-to-date information on ingredients, techniques and equipment. For the intermediate to advanced brewer, this book offers detailed sections on lauter tun designs, water chemistry, and a variety of other topics. Perfect Choice Review by Chase

This book set me straight. I thought i had known what i was doing in my brewing process, but this book allowed me to realize that knowledge is the key to excellent brews. I now use the book (with all my highlighted sections) during my home brew sessions, almost as a second person to check my ideas against. I highly recommend it. The Perfect Brewing Book Review by Nick D

This book is the perfect mix of beginner, straight forward need-to-know knowledge and more technical informative side of brewing. I love that as I brewed my first batch he told me what I needed to know in one chapter, and then as I expanded by brewing and brewing knowledge, more detailed specifics for every aspect. If you are looking to get into brewing this is the perfect book. If you are already brewing and want to expand your knowledge into more specifics and technical side, and know what's going on underneath the surface of your wort, this is also your book. For me, this book answered the questions for which I couldn't find answers in Papaizan's classic book. It's significantly more advanced, and had a good mix of technical complexity with "RDWHAHB". (Posted on 3/28/11)

I wish I had this book from the beginning, as there is a ton of helpful information that other beginner-type books don't have. It's very informative, yet very easy to read.
