By conducting the mash and boil in a single vessel, and by making the process of sparging as simple as lifting a mesh bag of grain, our BIAB system streamlines the procedure, drastically reduces the investment in both equipment and time, and scales the batches down to a size that’s friendly for both an apartment galley kitchen or a garage workshop, and ushers you into the realm of all-grain brewing with no stress, just great beer.

The system includes:

  • 7.5 gallon stainless kettle - fits on a stovetop and elminates boilover worries for a 3-gallon batches.
  • An extra-large, reusable mesh bag - contains the grain, lines the kettle, and accomplishes in 1 minute what it takes traditional fly sparging almost an hour to do.
  • Our exclusive how-to DVD - walks you through a BIAB brew day from heating water to boiling the wort.

It works well Review by Fred

I did my first BIAB this weekend. Here are some things to note: The brew kettle comes with a huge label stuck on it. It is not easy to remove. In fact I spent the first 30 minutes of my brew day removing it. I used dishwashing soap and warm water. Also note that you will need something to secure the brew bag to the perimeter of the brew pot or it will fall into the pot as you pour in the grain. I had viewed the BIAB video on Youtube and used a bungee cord as they had suggested. This worked well. I brewed a Double IPA recipe from the Brewsmith 2 software I downloaded to my Android tablet. You can scale any all grain recipe for your BIAB system using this software. The brewpot is lightweight but sturdy. It heated quickly on my Bayou Classic burner outside. The bag also seems of good quality and did its job well. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. Five Stars if not for the huge label and if a device to secure the bag was included or suggested. (Posted on 3/3/14)
Nice system to start Review by Andy

The BIAB method makes all grain brewing very approachable and fun. There is minimal equipment needed and with the type of results I've been obtaining, it has been well worth the investment. With respect to this system, it pretty much has everything needed to get started. The kettle is decent, but a bit thin; with that being said, I've been able to hold my mash temperatures for the recommended 90 minutes within a few degrees by just securing old towels around the kettle with bungee cords and piling towels on top of the lid. The supplied nylon bag is plenty big and durable. I scorched mine on the edge while raising the temperature to mash-out, so just be cognizant of the excess material! Overall I've been very happy with my purchase, and so far have brewed 3/4 BIAB kits that NB offers and have nailed the O.G. everytime. I have found that I like the three gallon yield too - since we demolish the end product so quickly, it forces me to brew more often and keeps my skills sharp! The only 'negative' is that the selection of BIAB kits is limited to 4; hope to see more soon. I would recommend the BIAB method to anyone who is wanting to take their brewing to the next level, and this system is a great place to start. (Posted on 8/5/13)
for anyone wondering Review by Tom

If you want to know the details of the brew kettle that comes with this kit, just look at the polarware economy kettle. it's the same thing. as for the other items, the bag is basic, and the DVD doesn't really contain much that you can't get from reading any other BIAB guide on the internet. if you want all three in one place, this is a good place to get it, but if you want to save $10, skip this kit and just get the economy kettle and a bag. the DVD isn't really worth it, IMHO. I've read a lot of forums on line about BIAB and a lot of them carry warnings about full conversion and brew house efficiency. Well made a batch of the oatmeal brown with this kit and not only did I get full conversion but I also achieved 75% efficiency. This was my very first all-grain batch and it was literally no harder than extract brewing. If you can heat water and set a timer you can make excellent all-grain beer. I never thought I'd order a beer kit labeled "advanced", but over night I've become an all-grain brewer. Thank you folks so much for making homebrew dreams come true. (Posted on 9/18/12)
