1 gallon glass screw-top jug. Great for fermenting small batches of beer, wine, or mead, or storing overflow from a larger batch. Seal with a #6 stopper or a 38mm screw cap (#7822), sold separately. Not rated for pressure, do not use for carbonated beverages.

Great for experimenting Review by Shano
Rating
I purchased five of these to do some experimenting with a Cream Ale. This is a great, cheap product (cheap financially, not cheap quality). My only negative feedback on this product is, if you choose to get the stoppers, that they will not stay in very well if the stopper or the inside rim is wet. This could obviously be avoided if you choose to get the screw-tops and/or ensure the area is dry before attempting to fit the stopper on the carboy. The other thing is that a thief will not fit in the opening. The thief that I have is the one that comes with the essential gravity-testing kit from NB. Aside from that, I thoroughly enjoy that these are budget-friendly and are somewhat lightweight (especially compared to a 5-gallon glass carboy). (Posted on 6/1/14)

Cheap and solid - this is a good bargain for tinkering around with 1 gallon recipes for beer, cider and mead. I have 3 currently, and use them frequently. (Posted on 1/18/14)
good jug Review by andrew

nice glass jug with no complaints, even has a somewhat decorative texturing on the bottom and the finger hole fits beer-drinking-man-sized fingers so you can swing it on your forearm to drink out of (Posted on 1/18/14)
One gallon jug. Review by Matt

The only bad thing I have to say about this is that I wish there were an easier way to clean it. Other than that, it's a great product. (Posted on 1/7/14)

Excellent glass jug for a good price. Add in a cap and airlock and you really can't go wrong for making a small batch of mead. (Posted on 12/14/13)

When not making music, I use them for small batch sample brews. No uni-taskers here. (Posted on 10/1/13)
Great to have around Review by Matt

I originally bought this because I had a particularly stubborn stuck fermentation, and I wanted to mix my yeast starter in with ~1 gallon of must before adding it to the primary fermenter to get it acclimated. Worked great for that, and now I have it around for overflow, small batches, etc. At this price you can't afford NOT to have one :-D. (Posted on 9/13/13)
great for small batch flower wines Review by Christine

I've been experimenting with flower wines, hard ciders, & aperitifs this year -- this is the perfect size for trying out this kind of stuff. Great to have a couple of these handy for when the mood strikes. (Posted on 9/9/13)
