Great small batch add-on, with some reservations
The jar is great, nice heavy/thick glass, better volumn than a 1 gallon jug (a lot more head room). Large open mouth makes cleaning a breeze. Though after reading about sealing problems with the big mouth bubbler I really leaned into tighting the lid, I didn't have any leaks but at racking time I couldn't unscrew the lid! Good thing I had a large strap wrench, was the only way I could get the lid loose. So it's a good idea to get one if you don't have one already! Need to work on how tight it really needs to be tightened and still get a good seal. While setting up my first batch I found that the included blow-off tube didn't fit snug on or in the top so I took the 3 piece airlock apart and stuck a piece of 3/8" tubing I had on that and used to included stopper and all was good. I haven't used the Fermcap-s yet so I don't know if they will make a difference and I'm thinking that you'll not need them with the extra headroom & blow-off tube.Over-all I'm happy with the jar, blow-off tubing is a waste of money and NB needs to remove it from the kit. It's a good thing they've included a 3-piece airlock because you'll need it. Just add about 4 foot of 3/8" tubing to your order and you'll be good to go!BTW - I use the airlock/tubing setup in my 5 gallon batchs all the time during the primary fermenting, it's hard to find tubing that will fit the mouth of your carboy tight enough to seal correctly.

Small batch heaven
The Little Big Mouth Bubbler that comes in this kit is a must have for the one gallon batch kits. Total volume of the bubbler is about 1.3 gallons which provides that extra room needed for active fermentation. Easy to handle when full, solid glass construction, and a wide opening to make cleaning a breeze.

Little Big Mouth
I can make a 1.20 (maximum) Gal batch which gives me almost 12 bottles

Second Bubbler?
Everything that was supposed to be there was including a clear plastic doodad that when attached to the lid appears to turn the lid into a low profile bubbler. This should allow the fermenter to slide nicely into my mini-fridge.

What are the dimensions of this?
Christopher M on May 13, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Just the right size for a 1.15 gal batch or a 1.20 gal batch. 1.2 gal batch makes 12 bottle of beer. Use a universal big mouth lid, its easier to use than the original screw lid.
Do these still come with the older style lids (as pictured)?
Frank C on May 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The lil big mouth bubbler does come with the old style, screw on lid as pictured. Cheers!
is a mini siphon long enough to work with a Little Big Mouth Bubbler?

When will the Little Big Mouth Bubbler be back in stock?
J R on Dec 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We were only able to get them as part of starter kits. I don not have an ETA for ones that can be sold individually, sorry. Let us know if we can help further! Cheers! James J.
what is the cleas plastic fermcap used for? Does this replace an airlock/bubbler? Do you just press fit onto the threaded flange? thanks!
R O on Oct 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The ferm cap S can be added at two times. You can add it to the boil to prevent boilovers. It's main reason for being in the kit is you can add some to the fermentor to limit the amount of foaming that occurs. IN high alcohol beers

it becomes more likely that the foam will grow more and cause a 'blow off'.
If a airlock is included in this kit, why do you still want a blowoff tube?
G Q on Oct 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: For vigorous fermentations, a blowoff tube is preferable to an airlock because the tube will allow foam to escape without becoming blocked.
What size is the drilled stopper that comes with this kit? I have the fermentor, and airlock but I do not have the drilled stopper.
M I on Sep 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: That is a No. 5.5 drilled stopper
