tubing and valve
Tubing and valve are both pretty straightforward as far as their performance. The price for the valve was far higher than competitors. Will be taken into consideration when shopping next time.

Works great
I put it on my keggle using a step bit, and it has worked great for the 2 brews I have used it for now. The only problem is that the o ring did push out, so I will be replacing those soon

Northern Brewer N
Works fine.
For what it's worth, I installed this today following the instructions provided. No problem. The nipple could be a little longer, but it still seems to work fine.

Bad original Part - Good Replacement Service
As some of the reviewers stated, the threaded nipple was too short to begin with. After repeated failed attempts to get it to work I called up NB, and I got the full story. A bad batch of nipples was ordered that were too short (1" instead of 1 1/8") and they didnt catch the mistake untill orders were already shipped. They offered to replace it with the correct size but I had already purchased another bulk-head assembly at my local brew shop. They then refunded me the full $20 dollars i spent at my local shop even though NB only charges $17 for their bulkhead. I call that good service! It was more hassle than it was worth but I commend northern brewer on their customer service! All the other parts except for the double-male nipple were well constructed and performed well.

Well built valve
Bought this version over the version the bronze version. Looks nice and works great. Only drawback is the O- rings. Buy an extra set because they may push out and tear when you are tightening the valve on the pot to get it not to leak.

almost perfect
It was great/ but the hole they said to cut is a little to big and the rubber washer/o-ring kinda slips inside if you're not careful.

installation instructions
I received this kit with my Megapot. The quality of the parts seem fine, the installation instructions are not so good. The instructions call for an o-ring and a lock nut on the exterior of the kettle. The pipe nipple is too short for this type of assembly and this leads to over tightening. That is why previous installers are experiencing o-rings that push out. There is no need for an o-ring on the exterior. I recommend installing the washer with the ball valve on the exterior of the kettle, install one o-ring and the locknut on the interior. Tighten the locknut by hand as tight as you can and then use a wrench to tighten the nut only a turn or two more. It's important not to over tighten. You will then have room to install the coupler on the pipe nipple on the other side of the locknut. Check for leaks. If you have leaks give your locknut another quarter turn or two. If you still have leaks you may not have enough teflon tape on the pipe nipple.

Short nipple
The supplied nipple was to short, and being stainless steel, wasn't easy tofind longer nipple at hardware store. I had to special order longer nippleonly to find that threads flattened out, and unable to fully thread togethervalve and coupler, so was no good. Ordered another nipple online fromanother plumbing store, only to have same problem. Now trying to havesomeone with tap and die kit trying to fix threads. Going on more than 2weeks and still can't brew. I think if i do this again, I'll go brass, because easier to get parts.

What size of hole do you need to have for this to fit?
B E on Dec 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello Brady,

Thank you for choosing Northern Brewer! You will need a 1/2" hole to install that valve kit. I hope that this helps, have a wonderful day!
What is the inside of the internal piece (the part that is actually inside the kettle) like? Is the part that comes in contact with the wort threaded or smooth?
N E on Dec 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It's threaded. The whole thing is made of standard pipe thread plumbing parts, only they are stainless. I don't have any trouble with anything though.
has the incorrect nipple length been corrected?
JohnW on Oct 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The barb is long enough to affix hosing to it...I am not sure the exact cause of the one reviewer's comments but the barb is long enough for every use we can use it for - 1/2" ID tubing fits perfectly

then affix with a tubing clamp.
Can be paired with ez clean?
