Makes a fantastic saison
Tried this side by side with Wyeast 3711 for a saison recipe. Fermented both in the mid 70's, let them rise naturally up to about 80F. The 670 had a hint of funk that really set this apart for a saison. Tough to get a NB as this seems to be pretty seasonal over the last two years, but well worth it if you can get your hands on it.

Develops over time
I used this on an American Farmhouse ale, great yeast blend. Flavor starts out like a saison and slowly develops more farmhouse character overtime. The last few bottles from the batch were the best.

Excellent choice for cider
I recently experimented with 6 different strains of yeast in multiple small batches to find my favorite for cider and 670 won, hands down. It's every bit as dry as the traditional English cider yeast but has a delicious sour edge that gives it a lot more character, perhaps even a bit like a commercial Granny Smith cider. I'm using it again, this time in my next big batch of single variety heirloom apple cider (with Calville blanc d'hiver apples).

quick ferementer
Very clean at lower mash temps, final gravity of just over one after three days at 70 degrees. Needs a higher temp to really pull out the aroma. Yeast dropped very cleanly.

Ferments well at high temperatures
Fermented really well in a batch of Saison au Miel, despite the outdoor temp being above 95 all week and the ac set at 76 in the apartment (no basement, so I ferment in a closet). Flavor-wise, a nice (though subtle) change from the Belgian styles. Will probably order again next summer.

BEST ANSWER: Go away, Robot . . . this stoopid automatic email from a heartless corporation (thinking automatically-generated emails will somehow help their red) is the epitome of Lame. You ask me to write back to this person, because I too have used WLP670, but ALL the person is asking about is WHEN Northern Brewer will get 670 back in stock.
Completely Kafka-esque, and icily corporate . . . and the reason I don?t give my business to a behemoth like Northern Brewer anymore, but instead seek out the small and thoughtful LHBS.
