Payment Methods

Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express. Sorry, no CODs. Company purchase orders must be prepaid.

Personal Checks and Money Orders

In order to determine shipping charges, customers paying by check or money order should still call us and place the order by telephone. Alternately, you can build an order on our website and use our online shopping cart system to determine shipping charges. If payment is not sufficient to cover shipping costs, the order may not be sent. Personal checks may be held to verify funds before the order is shipped. Make checks or money orders payable to Northern Brewer.

Out of Stock Items

In the majority of cases, if an item on your order is out of stock, we will ship the stocked items and send the backorder when it arrives at no additional charge. We will attempt to notify you via email or phone should this situation arise. If you wish to override this policy, please indicate this in the "order comments" field at the end of online checkout, or phone in your order.

Returns

*What items can be returned?*

Any product may be returned within 60 days for an exchange or refund (less shipping charges).

Perishable items including yeast, hops, grains, malt extract, and all other consumable ingredients CANNOT be returned.

*Who pays for return shipping?*

The customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless we have made an error in shipment or an item arrives damaged or defective. In the event of a shipment error or a damaged/defective item, Northern Brewer will be responsible for the cost of ground shipping only, and only for returns made within 60 days of the purchase date.

Please contact us if your defective merchandise is less than $10.00 in value; returning the merchandise may not be necessary.

Yeast

When stored in a refrigerator and used within 3 months of purchase, our Wyeast "smack packs" will show inflation within 5 days of activation, or we will replace them free of charge. We strongly recommend that you evaluate the viability of all other liquid yeast (e.g., White Labs) by making a yeast starter. Do not brew with inactive yeast — we can replace the yeast, but not a batch that fails to ferment properly.
