Product Details

Clean, highly flocculant, and highly attenuative yeast. This yeast is similar to WLP002 in flavor profile, but is 10% more attenuative. This eliminates the residual sweetness, and makes the yeast well suited for high gravity ales. It is also reaches terminal gravity quickly. 80% attenuation will be reached even with 10% ABV beers. Apparent attenuation: 70-80%. Flocculation: high. Optimum temp: 65°-70° F

The NEW GoTo Yeast for ClassicAles...
In years past, my "goto" was usually 001, and for British, 002. I've tried side-by-side tests using several yeasts and was shocked to find that WLP007 is as flexible as 001. When temp controlled, in the low range, it produces a beautiful very clean American Pale Ale. But if you run it at the upper temp range, you can produce a great tasting British Ale, and better still, most any high gravity ale with the same ferment temp controls. Plus, the bonus is, this yeast flocs like a gold brick! Give it a try, you too will be a believer! Cheers....

Good Stuff
This yeast is awesome! I used this stuff in a SMaSH barleywine with an OG of 1.117 it went to 78% attenuation and finished at 1.026. This I want to emphasize was 78% att. amongst 12% ABV. Could not have asked for more, also it was fermented at 64F and it is very clean tasting as well.Great Yeast

My new goto yeast....
I decided to give this yeast a try just over a year ago for a recipe I was formulating. Huge success. After that I started substituting other yeasts in place of this one for most ales. Now, it's even displaced the standard 1056 for everything except the cream ale. The attenuation, flocculation....it goes like mad for a few days, completes its work, then drops like a rock and leaves my beer clear as glass in a matter of days. I used it in an Irish Red recently, skipped secondary, kegged in less than 2 weeks and it came out beautiful. Highly recommended.

Fantastic Fermentation
After making a 1L starter 36hrs prior to pitching, this yeast started to ferment within 5 hours and was 80% complete within 72 hours! Wonderful yeast strain and gives great flavor for my Mannheim Steamroller Stout!

Great Yeast!
I love this yeast in all my English style ales. I've tried 002 and 005 and I like this one better than those because of how well this one attenuation.

Irish dry stout must!
I started using this yeast about 2 years ago for my dry stouts.Tried several ale yeasts ,002,004,wyeast 1084,1098 and dry yeast . Nun of those come close to 007's smooth dry flavor in stout.Become a believer!

Wonderful yeast
I use this yeast for a wide variety of beers. The Pro Series Surly Furious clone is meant to have this yeast instead of the Wyeast version. Pale ales and IPAs are easy with this yeast if you keep the temperature low. Any British ale style will turn out perfect as well. Top of the line strain.

Can't go wrong
This yeast is very versatile. It has a good flavor profile and ferments fast and clears even faster. I have used it for stouts, porters, browns, pale ales, IPAs and bitters and it has never let me down. If you are in a hurry, you could keg this in 2 weeks with no problem but it works great for bottle conditioning as well because it stays stuck to the bottle when you pour.

Amazing
Used this yeast in an IPA I created. Made a yeast starter with it and it took off. Once I pitch it, fermentation started in 3 hours. Had a blow out from all the activity. Once that was handled, it fermented my IPA (OG 1.066) for 5 days. Tasted amazing when transferred into a secondary. Can't wait to try this in a few weeks!

Like the high attenuation results
I am a lover of dryer, high gravity beers, and not so much of high malted beers, sometimes this has meant that I wait a long time for my other, high gravity beers to lose the excess sugar. So when I read about this yeast, I decided to try it out. This was a good performing, high attenuation product that I will use again in the future.

how much yeast do you get? How big is the container? Seems expensive to pay 7.99 plus shipping for only one thing of beer. I'm guessing you can brew a lot of beer with this?
Phyllis H on Jun 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: One vial of Whitelabs yeast is enough to ferment one five gallon batch of beer (for best results, I would recommend making a yeast starter). Liquid yeast is usually a little more expensive than dry, but you do get more options as far as strains. One way to save money on yeast is to rinse and reuse your yeast for multiple batches, but be sure your sanitation practices are sound.
Refrigerated shelf life?
Richard G on Sep 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The shelf life of this yeast is 6 months from date of manufacture if kept in a refrigerated environment
