The silicon hose is by far the one to choose for brewing. The heat resistance and flexibility of the hose make it easy to use in cold weather. Great product!!
My cooling and whirlpool set up. The silicon hose is fantastic as it handles boiled wort with ease.

Great tubing for brewing
Nice stuff. It feels a little tacky but whatever sticks to it comes right off when cleaning. Fits well on my 1/2" nipples using hose clamps to secure it. Wish I had bought a longer length, guess I'll have to buy more.

Haven't put it all together yet, got a lot more to go, but service and delivery has been great. Hoping 20' was enough 1/2 Silicone tubing, but if not, I know where you live.

Better than PVC vinyl tubing
I've been using this tubing for about a year now. It has replaced the vinyl food grade tubing i used to use for transferring both cold and hot wort.Pros:It doesn't get soft when hot or stiff when cold, like the vinyl tubing does. Since it is elastic, It fits over fittings easier - slides on and off without a fuss. It doesn't melt. You can see the wort flowing through it.Cons:It is translucent so you can see the liquid in there, but not as well as the clear vinyl tubing. Since it is more elastic, it will pop off of fittings, so i make sure to put a clamp lightly over it.In short, it is much better for transferring hot liquids.

I havent drank the brew I used the tubing on yet, but I expect good things. Very handy to have the right materials for the right job.

Can this be used inside a mash tun, to connect a false bottom to a bulkhead, without being crushed by grains?
D U on Jan 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Well in practical theory silicone high temp tubing may work. Personal I have not tried this approach. I was able to find metal screen tubing that bolted on to the false bottom and again to the valve. It was a prefix fit. By using this metal screen tubing I've found it easier to clean.
Ok, your next question where did I purschased this metal screen tubing? At the moment I can't remember. But if asked I will try.
I hope this information was helpful.
Can this be autoclaved?
A shopper on Sep 3, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The tubing is rated up to 400 degrees F. Most medical autoclaves run at a temperature of 300 F under about 50 PSI. Not to get to much into the science of things but water has a harder time boiling under pressure. If your worried sanitizing use a pressure cooker or soak plain boiling water with plenty of hearing time.
Is this tubing platinum or peroxide cured?

Thank you for your question. Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. You could try giving the manufacturer a call though, http://www.questenginc.com/

John S. on Dec 15, 2015
