Another use for the 1" hose
I used this 1" hose to lengthen my large plastic funnel to use when kegging IPA that had been dry-hopped. I have a very fine screened chinois, which filtered out alot of the dry-hop residue (won't know if it got enough out until I actually dispense from the keg (in another week or so). Hop residue really messes up the tap device from a keg, but it's also not good to introduce air to the beer during transfer to the keg. But at least the process went smoothly through the chinois held in place with the big plastic funnel with the long hose attached to reach to near the bottom of the keg.

Does not fit big mouth tightly
Contrary to the experience of others who reviewed this product, I find that this hose does not fit tightly enough in the big mouth bubbler lid to form an effective seal. I find this particularly odd because the previous blow off tube with the same dimensions that I bought from this same company does fit tightly enough to seal effectively.

Took some tweaking to seal with the BMB lid
The hose I got was too small in diameter to make any kind of seal in the lid of the Big Mouth Bubbler. It was a definitely loose fit, I could see through the crack down into the fermenter. I asked NB if they had a fix for this, and they said it would probably be OK, but they would give me store credit or a refund (which I did not ask for). I heated the end of the hose and stretched it over a wooden dowel to increase its diameter. After cooling it held the new shape. Now it makes nice tight fit in in the BMB lid. All is well, and I am happy with the customer service of NB.

The Amazing Blow Off
My recent purchase of the 1” diameter blow off hose has turned out to be a great experience. This hose was able to handle 7# of peaches erupting with montezumas revenge exploding out of the carboy. Not a single drop escaped to the outer world of the carboy!

Fitting is quesitonable
Bought for blow off with big mouth bubbler, and though it "fits" the seal is not tight and made me definitely switch to a tighter top after several days

Is this food grade?

BEST ANSWER: Despite it not saying specifically so, I have used this hose in a blowoff tube capacity on numerous fermentation runs and have had no issues with it.
I noticed in the description it states "Fits directly in the neck of standard or acid-style glass carboys (#7003, 7004, 7006, and 7007)", does anyone know which ID fits inside the 1 gallon carboy SKU#7009?
C V on May 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: This hose would be too large for a 1-gallon jug opening. A good way to have a blow-off tube on a jug is to have a 3-piece airlock held in a #6 stopper, or the screw-cap-with-hole. Take the top and center cap out of the airlock and put a piece of 3/8" tubing onto the center "stem" of the airlock, and drop the tubing down into a cup or container of water. This will make a simple blow-off assembly for fermenting in the jug. -Mike W, Northern Brewer
