These bottles are the same capacity as the "normal" 12oz bottles, but are nearly twice the weight. They're capable of maintaining much higher internal pressure, so they're perfect for any highly carbonated beverage.

My only complaint is the price, but you can't seem to find these anywhere else!

Don't quite fit
although the bottles are great they don't fit the standard capping device, the neck is too wide and nearly snaps the device. I wish there had been a warning before I bought the cases.

These bottles are the real deal
Purchased these bottles to withstand the pressures of higher carbonation beer. Right out of the box I could tell they were significantly thicker glass. Much heavier than other bottles I own. If you prefer bottling to kegging, these bottles are far superior to any crown finish bottle I own.

Heavy bottles & quick shipping
These are nice, heavy bottles for a highly carbed belgian I made. I was surprised with how quickly these shipped - they arrived at my door only a few days after placing the order.

Belgian Style Beer Bottles
I've been looking for bottles like these because they have much heavier glass than regular bottles, as I bottle only Belgian style Ales at higher Co2 levels, very nice heavy bottles.

Amazing Bottles
Very thick and beautiful bottles. These guys also do an amazing job at packing and shippihlng. I ordered 5 cases and not 1 bottle came broken.

Great product
The reason I didn't give five stars is because my traditional plastic Ted bottle capper had a hard time not with the actual rim of the bottles where the caps were mounted, but it couldn't quite fit around the neck of the smaller Belgian bottles. They're wider than regular bottles so there was a clicking as the outside of my capper would go off track.

Response from Northern Brewer

Thank you for the review. It sounds like maybe the larger 29mm bell might work better for you with these bottles.

Nice bottles
Bottled a tripel and these were just the right choice. Nice looking. Heavy Duty. As others have mentioned, the standard 'winged' bottle capper will work and work great, but the reversible 'jaws'(metal plates that hold the neck) need to be reversed to use the 29mm setting. The cap/crown size is the same as standard long necks.

Can you please list what the rated max pressure is? (any measure would be useful: volumes, PSI, Atm, Bar)?
A shopper on Nov 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Here's what NB said when I emailed them last year:
Me: "Can you please find out what the pressure rating is for these bottles:
belgian style beer bottles crown finish
I know that it says suitable for highly carbonated beers but I would much rather know the actual numbers before I buy a bunch of cases."
Gabe: "They're rated to 15 bar."
Me: "Oh my, is "15" a typo for "5" there, or is "15" correct? That's a really good rating (5 bar would be about 70PSI) ! Either way, they will do what I need."
Gabe: "Nope, 15 bar. They're pretty tough for sure. Now, bear in mind there's a slight disconnect between pressure rating and volumes of CO2, since volumes of CO2 somewhat misuses the temperature variable. But either way, they are strong enough that you shouldn't have any trouble."
What are the dimensions of these bottles? Diameter and Height?
A shopper on Apr 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for contacting Northern Brewer. The height of the 375 ml Belgian-style Beer Bottles are 9 inches tall with a bottom diameter of 2.5 inches. Cheers!
Can someone confirm that these are thicker glass, suitable for higher carbonation levels?
A shopper on Mar 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I routinely bottle mixed ferm sour & Brett beers(some with 3 vol or higher co2) and they hold up fine. I weighed them years ago and compared them to regular 12oz bottles and they were definitely heavier. Don't ask me how much though, it's been ages.
Do these also take corks? I would think so want to be sure.
A shopper on Feb 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have not tried corks. The bottles are strong, though. I've bought something like 96 of these bottles... great for high carb. Styles, like Belgians or Hefeweizens. . They take a standard crown/bottle cap. The crimper needs to be configured the hold a larger neck diameter than the standard 12 oz. Long neck. Regarding corking, If I recall correctly, NB carries 2 versions... one for capping, and one for corking.
Can I use these bottles to bottle Brett sours?
omar g on Oct 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have used these for many Belgian types with pressure up to about 3.5 volumes with no trouble. Recently did a Brett Single that's doing fine so far after about 2 months. No Brett sour specifically.
