Hard to Cap
When they say "Works best with a bench capper" they really mean you basically must use a bench capper. I tried to cap with a regular capper that comes with most starter kits and the shape of the bottle is such that the capper cant grab the bottle neck like it should. I broke 2 bottles out of 10 tries and am not positive the ones that didn't break were sealed completely.

Great Bottles!
After a little searching around online, and reading other reviews of normal bottle cappers not working, I realized that the capper clamp pieces can be switched around between 26 and 29 (mm i think?) You must use the 26 side for standard crown bottles and the 29 side for these bottles.

Great bottles
I've done a fair amount of corked Belgians as well as the crown finish and I love these bottles. I have a Colanna capper/corker and these work great with it. I do want to point out that although I see mentions of flipping the hand cappers around to 29mm these do not take those caps. I was told they did and got to bottling day only to find they take a standard 26mm cap.

These bottles are the real deal
Purchased these bottles to withstand the pressures of higher carbonation beer. Right out of the box I could tell they were significantly thicker glass. Much heavier than other bottles I own. If you prefer bottling to kegging, these bottles are far superior to any crown finish bottle I own.

Amazing Bottles
Very thick and beautiful bottles. These guys also do an amazing job at packing and shippihlng. I ordered 5 cases and not 1 bottle came broken.

Outstanding price on soBme hard to find bottles!!!
Northern Brewer delivers again. A great price for 375 m Belgian bottles which are great for bottling at high carbonation levels for Belgian beers.

These bottles are the same capacity as the "normal" 12oz bottles, but are nearly twice the weight. They're capable of maintaining much higher internal pressure, so they're perfect for any highly carbonated beverage.

My only complaint is the price, but you can't seem to find these anywhere else!

Very nifty for bottling Belgians
These are heavy duty smaller Belgian bottles perfect for my new blonde and other upcoming Belgian brews. They have a neat shape to them and they take regular crowns so no need for hassling with corking!

Nice bottles
Bottled a tripel and these were just the right choice. Nice looking. Heavy Duty. As others have mentioned, the standard 'winged' bottle capper will work and work great, but the reversible 'jaws'(metal plates that hold the neck) need to be reversed to use the 29mm setting. The cap/crown size is the same as standard long necks.

Can you please list what the rated max pressure is? (any measure would be useful: volumes, PSI, Atm, Bar)?
A shopper on Nov 24, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Here's what NB said when I emailed them last year:
Me: "Can you please find out what the pressure rating is for these bottles:
belgian style beer bottles crown finish
I know that it says suitable for highly carbonated beers but I would much rather know the actual numbers before I buy a bunch of cases."
Gabe: "They're rated to 15 bar."
Me: "Oh my, is "15" a typo for "5" there, or is "15" correct? That's a really good rating (5 bar would be about 70PSI) ! Either way, they will do what I need."
Gabe: "Nope, 15 bar. They're pretty tough for sure. Now, bear in mind there's a slight disconnect between pressure rating and volumes of CO2, since volumes of CO2 somewhat misuses the temperature variable. But either way, they are strong enough that you shouldn't have any trouble."
What are the dimensions of these bottles? Diameter and Height?
A shopper on Apr 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Thanks for contacting Northern Brewer. The height of the 375 ml Belgian-style Beer Bottles are 9 inches tall with a bottom diameter of 2.5 inches. Cheers!
Can someone confirm that these are thicker glass, suitable for higher carbonation levels?
A shopper on Mar 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I routinely bottle mixed ferm sour & Brett beers(some with 3 vol or higher co2) and they hold up fine. I weighed them years ago and compared them to regular 12oz bottles and they were definitely heavier. Don't ask me how much though, it's been ages.
Can I use these bottles to bottle Brett sours?
omar g on Oct 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I have used these for many Belgian types with pressure up to about 3.5 volumes with no trouble. Recently did a Brett Single that's doing fine so far after about 2 months. No Brett sour specifically.
