Leaking
First time use and it's leaking where the rivets connect the handles. Buyer beware.

Buyer beware
They sold this kettle to me at the Milwaukee store. I could not get it to a boil on my stove and had to trash the whole kit that I was trying to brew. Turns out there is a note on the page for this item that indicates this kettle is less than ideal for an electric stove. Nobody told me that.

Good but not great
This kettle is okay, but definitely not a permanent solution. It's thin and dents easIly, and also scorches anything sitting on its bottom. There are better kettles for less out there, but this one is okay and will get the job done... albeit not perfectly.

Does the job!
I enjoyed using this product. I've only used it once so far, but no issues to report! Easy to clean and use, and fairly light!

Gets the job done
A solid tool for the job. A little thin and the lid isn't very sturdy. But overall a good purchase; I'm sure I will get many, many brews out of it.

Is the pot induction capable?
( does a magnet stick to it)
Paul H on Feb 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would not try it, but yes it can be used on an induction heater. The problem is that the metal is so thin, it overheats in one area and scorched anything inside and this will even happen with water inside. Eventually, the bottom deforms and also creates a permanent dark area with a color that looks like a gun blue color. In my 30 years brewing experience, stay away from induction heating for brewing!
Is this pot 304 stainless steel?
A shopper on Jun 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It is SS but not 304.
How thick is the bottom?
David B on May 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Hi there, this 5 gallon kettle is a great economic starter kettle. We don't have a way of measuring the thickness but if you have concerns about the thickness, our tall boy is another great kettle. Cheers!
