Growing Hops

Flex your green thumb and get back to the roots of brewing. Whether you’re an old hand or new to growing, Josh Havillis is here to school you on the ins and outs of the entire growing season. As a graduate-level Research Assistant in Plant Biology at the University of Minnesota, he will guide you through selecting hop strains to harvesting and everything else in between. Discover how to grow your very own hops and craft a beer that is truly your own.

Iron Brewer Tastings

Four weeks ago, we pit two experienced brewers against each other in a brew-off with mystery ingredients. The time has finally come to taste these two mysterious beers. Who will claim the trophy and become Milwaukee’s iron brewer? You be the judge and determine who will be Milwaukee’s Iron Brewer Champion. We’re putting together a new keezer for the Northern Brewer Milwaukee Retail Store and we want you to be a part of it! Stop in and learn how easy it is to build a keezer and start serving your brew-static creations on tap. You’ll learn by doing as we demonstrate how to turn a chest freezer into a keezer. Our experienced keezer builders will be available to walk you through the process and answer all your questions. And, as always, there will be beer samples on hand!
