Like our classic Mild Ale kit, expect AK47 to be lightly bittered and light-bodied but not at all boring. Instead of those chocolate-and-toffee, look for malt flavors that suggest honey, biscuits, and fresh bread, rounded out with buttery and citrus fruit notes from the yeast.

Product Details
Three things to know: 1) It’s pale. 2) It’s a mild. 3) This isn’t a new concept. True, most milds are like little brown ales, but pale versions have existed and still do exist; this kit is an homage to one of the (relatively) famous ones. Like our classic Mild Ale kit, expect AK47 to be lightly bittered and light- bodied but not at all boring. Instead of those chocolate-and-toffee characteristics, look for malt flavors that suggest honey, biscuits, and fresh bread, rounded out with buttery and citrus fruit notes from the yeast. Ready to drink quickly, obligingly chuggable, and remarkably complex for barely 3% abv.

Nice classic British session ale
Very little hop punch, either in bitterness or flavor, and really, that's the point of this kit. Just a clean, simple malt flavor in a traditional bitter. Picture yourself in some small pub in rural England in 1925, and ordering a pint. This beer is probably pretty close to what you'd get. I used Danstar Nottingham dry yeast, and I was happy with the result.

Autumn session go-to!
Think of a hearty English muffin or slice of toast w a light spread of apricot preserves. The malt is there, and some light fruit that does come in at the end. Body is almost complete at 2 weeks bottle conditioning, I think it will get better in the next week or so. NB accurately describes this brew in the listing, I'm drinking what I ordered. Another successful recipe built by these good folks. Will be ordering this one again!

Hits the description on the mark...just not enough there for me
This turned out just exactly the way the description reads. Read it carefully. If that's what you're looking for, look no further. The only thing I didn't really get was citrus (but I used Danstar BRY-97, not Safale 05). I just expected a little more flavor, a little more bold and less like [fill in major brand light beer name here]. Maybe it'll develop (just kegged a week ago). I brewed this right after SMASH, and I thought for lighter, session type summer lawnmower beers, that beer had far more to offer.

Great Kit
This was my first try. I screwed it completely up. The kit however was perfect. It was well packaged, and was delivered on time. I will try again, because I KNOW its supposed to taste better than the swill I made. Thanks!

Always look forward
While I haven't brewed this kit yet I always look forward to what NB has to offer in their kits. You can't go wrong.

How important is the sugar? Can I reduce gravity even further by skipping the corn sugar addition?
A shopper on Nov 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You could skip the sugar addition, but this is a fairly light beer as it is. Not adding the corn sugar would bring the OG down to approximately 1.023.
Is this available for 1 gallon kits?

Sorry, this one isn't available as a 1G kit, but the closest one would probably be:
