Not 1 oz in package
The hops are great, my issue is the weight in the package. I purchased two 1 oz packages, they both weighed in, together as 1.25 oz. each package was almost a half an ounce short.

Super fresh!
Bought these for dry hopping. In another week or two, I'll be drinking a luscious session IPA.

Amarillo hops
Amarillo is a hop that has become super popular with microbrewers. Brewers are describing the flavor and aroma as a supercharged version of Cascade. Floral, tropical, and citrus (lemon, orange and grapefruit) characteristics. However, it has a distinctive Orange character to it that is very different from Cascade.

If you like Sam Adams Rebel IPA, this is the middle boil hop. Sandwiched between early Chinook, and late addition Columbus, followed by Citra hop-back. 9lbs Maris Otter LME per 5 gallon batch.

Love this Hop
I have used this hop many times in many different types of beer (IPA, Pale Ale, Saison, etc.). A few notes to the uninitiated:1. It has a very delicate aroma of fresh flowers, fruit and citrus (think peaches, melon, orange, and roses). 2. It is very easily masked by other more potent hops (e.g. Citra, Centennial, Simcoe, etc.). So if you want its character to stand out either use more (2 to 1) or avoid more assertive hops. 3. It will give your beer a juicy, sweet character. Don't ask me why, but it just will.

When you purchase 8oz of this hops for $19.99 - do they come individually packaged. I want to save some. Thanks!
A R on May 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, the 8 oz. option would be a single bag filled with 8 oz. of hops. You could purchase eight of the 1 oz. packages though, it would be more expensive, but it would allow you to save them sealed in packaging.
My recipe calls for 16 AAU of hops. What is the conversion to ounces?
J I on Dec 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: That depends on the alpha acid percentage of the hops you use. 16% alpha hops would mean 1 ounce adds 16 AAUs. Amarillo is usually more like 8-11 so some simple math would show that it would take about 1.75 - 2 ounces. I hope this helps!
